SunTrust Bank has named Daniel G. Waetjen city president in Naples and Bruce A. Schultz president in Lee County.

Waetjen previously served as executive vice president and manager of SunTrust's Commercial Banking division in Collier and Lee counties. He will retain his previous responsibilities with his elevation to the city president's position in Naples.

Schultz will also serve as executive vice president and line of business manager for SunTrust's Retail Banking operations in Lee and Collier. He previously served as president of SunTrust's Nature Coast bank where he was responsible for SunTrust's Retail Banking operations in Citrus, Hernando and Sumter counties. He is a 20-year veteran of the banking industry.

Waetjen joined SunTrust earlier this year from Wachovia Bank of McLean, Va., where he served as senior vice president and managing director of Wachovia's Corporate Banking division in Baltimore and Northern Virginia. Previously, he served as both chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Decision Supports Systems of Ashburn, Va., a privately-owned distributor of hardware technologies.

The announcement was made by Ray L. Sandhagen, chairman and chief executive officer of SunTrust Bank, Southwest Florida region.
