Non-Profit Awards Grant Money

Amount, Number of Recipients Increase

United Christian Giving, a local grass roots non-profit organization based in Fort Myers, recent presented 47 challenge grants to pre-selected Southwest Florida non-profit organizations.

The UCG gave away more than $62,000 in grants to 47 groups, up from $31,800 to 26 groups in 2001.

United Christian Giving offers the money as challenge grants in order to motivate each beneficiary group's donor base to meet the challenge. UCG donors are made up of local businessmen, businesswomen, retirees and corporations.
