Chamber Goes Extreme

By: Editorial Staff

May Expo to Have Added Twist

A new expanded feature will be provided to area employers, human resource consultants and job seekers at The Chamber of Southwest Florida's Tenth Annual Southwest Florida Regional Business Expo, set for May 6-7 at Harborside Convention Center in downtown Fort Myers.

The theme is "Building Business For SW Florida" with an emphasis on business marketing plus workforce development. "This new element is designed to bring employers, employment service providers and consultants, educators and community resources together in one location," according to Steve Tirey, president of The Chamber of Southwest Florida. "The new Xtreme Employment Center will include 20-30 booths on the exhibit floor and a collection of resources, information, seminars and events on the second floor. This assembly of resources for bringing together employers and HR service providers and current employment seeking individuals is a first for our community. Job seekers will be admitted to the event activities with a current resume or business card."

"On showcase in the overall Expo event, will be over 140 companies, products and services we need in business today to be more efficient, productive and profitable. This new element provides an additional set of reasons why area employers should participate in this historic 10th year event," stated Suzanne Ramey, president of Human Resource Concepts, working as the project manager for the Xtreme Employment Center at the Expo.

There will be a series of xtreme challenges, adding a festive competitive atmosphere. According to Debbie Regnone, Resort Sports in Fort Myers, "Xtreme opportunities come from your ability to overcome Xtreme obstacles in life and work. We invite you to test your tenacity at our Xtreme Challenge Booth where you will face physical, mental and X-traordinary tasks with a timeline."

A comprehensive seminar schedule and a major announcement about a special seminar for Expo attendees, and a list of corporate underwriters will be announced next week, according to event planners. One last networking opportunity to close the event will culminate on the May 7 business day from 5-7 p.m. with a reception for attendees and exhibitors.

Limited booth space and corporate sponsorship is available. For more information call Expo Marketing 239-466-6300 or The Chamber of Southwest Florida 239-278-4001.
