Fort Myers-based Chico's FAS reported June sales, for the five-week period ended July 5, at $65.9 million, a 41.7 percent jump over the same period last year.

Comparable store sales for company-owned operations increased 16.5 percent for the five-week period ended July 5, compared with the same five-week period in 2002.

Chico's sells private-label women's clothing and related accessories at 412 women's specialty stores, under the name of Chico's and Pazo, in 42 states and the District of Columbia.
