The Lee County Visitor & Convention Bureau presented Pine Island business owner and tourism advocate Sally Tapager with the Junonia Award at the Team Tourism Summit at Sanibel Harbour Resort & Spa.

The Lee Memorial Health System Foundation named Amanda Cross as the board’s chair.

The Florida Public Relations Association named Barbara-Anne Urrutia, public relations manager for the Lee County
Port Authority, as Chapter President of the Year.

The American Lung Association of Gulfcoast Florida appointed Kevin A. Mikolashek, first vice president and Cape Coral market manager at Colonial Bank, as president of the advisory board.

Mary Shallies, president of Bonita Springs-based AdSource, joined the board of directors of the BonitaSprings Assistance Office.

The Conservancy of Southwest Florida announced Lavern N. Gaynor as the winner of its 2009 Eagle Award, which recognizes an individual or group whose work and actions protect the natural environment and quality of life in Southwest Florida.

The Boys & Girls Club of America awarded Scott Koenig, Colonial Bank’s senior vice president and commercial lending team leader for Lee and Collier counties, with the national silver medallion.

The Charlotte County Tourist Development Council appointed Julie Mathis, executive director of the Charlotte County Chamber of Commerce, as vice chairwoman for fiscal year 2008/2009.
