The Humane Society Naples won a national pet shelter marketing competition sponsored by Maddie’s Fund, a California-based pet-rescue foundation, for two campaigns designed to increase adoptions.

Thomas Moran, managing director-Investments and founding member of The Moran Asset Management Group of Wachovia Securities, was named by Barron’s as the No. 1 financial advisor in Southwest Florida.

The Greater Naples Leadership Inc. honored Susan and Peter Manion, co-chairs of Fun Time Early Childhood Academy, with the Parke Wright III Distinguished Leadership Award.
The Hodges University Foundation appointed Michael London as chairman and Barbara Burris as secretary.

Jennifer Whitelaw, of Whitelaw Legal Group in Naples, was ranked No. 4 in the country in Trademark Insider’s national Top 50 Trademark Attorneys. She was the only Florida-based attorney in the Top 10 for the last published quarter.

Bonita Springs Utilities board of directors incumbents Steve McIntosh, David McKee and Jim Strecansky returned for a three-year term. Incumbent Hank Hochstetler and new member Robert Sharkey were elected for a one-year term.

Jonathan M. Frantz, M.D., is included in the new 2009 edition of the Guide to America’s Top Ophthalmologists.
