40 Under Forty

Fresh faces who will lead the charge.

As we enter a new decade, now is a good time to explore where Southwest Florida should be 10 years from now. Presumably, we’ll be in a much better place where the economy is strong and diverse. We just need to figure out how to get there. Fortunately, we have a multitude of up-and-coming leaders—young professionals from a variety of industries—who can move us in that direction.

For the eighth straight year, Gulfshore Business magazine is proud to salute some of these fresh faces, 40 individuals under 40 years old who have distinguished themselves in their professions and in the community. And when we end the decade on a positive note, we’ll be able to look back and note the influence this year’s 40-under-40 class had on our region.

Jennifer Basey, 37

Edward Jones

As a financial advisor for Edward Jones, Basey has forged strong relationships with her clients, as evidenced by a survey that rated her among the top-5 service providers in the region. She helps clients reach their financial and personal goals. “The great big thank-you hug I get from my clients when they graduate a personal-growth class with tears in their eyes is priceless,” says Basey. She is also an Edward Jones Performance Leader, training and mentoring financial advisors within the company and helping them develop skills necessary for them to succeed.

Basey is the director and Fundraising Committee chairperson in the Pilot Club of Fort Myers, an organization of executive, business and professional leaders working together to improve the quality of life in local communities.

Off the Clock: Basey enjoys spending time with her husband, Mark Basey, and is a dedicated mother to her two children, Grace and Garrett. To relax, she enjoys running or playing basketball with her children.  —Michele Frank
