Southwest Florida attorney Luis E. Insignares has been appointed to serve on the Family Law Rules Committee of the Florida Bar.

The U.S. Small Business Administration recognized Jose A. Lopez, president of Marketing Arm International in Port Charlotte, as the Florida Small Business Person of the Year.

Robert Galloway, Katie Haas and Craig Peden have joined the Community Cooperative Ministries Inc. board of directors.

The Community Foundation of Collier County elected Christopher P. Bray as the board of trustees’ chair. The foundation also appointed nine members to the board of trustees: JoAnna Bradshaw, Kim Ciccarelli Kantor, Patricia Jilk, Rev. Dr. Kathleen Kircher, Suzanne Lount, J. Richard Munro, Deborah Russell, Mario Valle and Jennifer Walker.

The Gulf Coast Venture Forum 2011 to 2012 board of directors are: Tim Cartwright, John Gleeson, Sara Hand, Susi Winchell, Fred Klaucke, Bill Hagman, Roger Warren, David Kakkuri and Tammie Nemecek.

The Business and Professional Women of Charlotte County officers for 2011 to 2012 are Brenda Smith, president; Debbi Ricci, first vice president of programs; Trudy Overbey, first vice president of membership; Brenda Lynch, treasurer; and Melissa Vanderbilt, secretary.

The Florida Bar re-appointed Jason Korn, attorney at Cohen & Grigsby, to serve another three-year term on the organization’s Professional Ethics Committee.  

Roger Brownell and Joe Coleman have been elected to the board of directors of Habitat for Humanity.

Waldrop Engineering appointmented Michael G. Ekblad to the Lee County Land Development Code Advisory Committee.

The David Lawrence Foundation elected Arthur L. Cherry and William R. O’Neill to its board of trustees.

The law firm of Quarles & Brady announced that Kimberley A. Dillon has been appointed chair of the YMCA of the Palms Board of Endowment Inc. Fund.
