On the Fly R. Scott Cameron, president of Cameron Real Estate Services Inc., has spent more than 15 years hunting the silver ghost of the flats. This elusive and intelligent fish, more commonly known as the bonefish, is considered premier fly-fishing game. It gained this status because its silver hue blends in with the water to become a “ghost.” The challenge is why bonefish are Cameron’s favorite quarry. “I absolutely love bonefishing because it’s sight fishing. You see the fish and you target it,” Cameron says. For most fly fishermen, catching one or two bonefish in a day is a thrill, but that doesn’t hold for Cameron. “We’re pretty experienced at it. I’ll usually catch somewhere between 10 and 12 a day.” Beyond the challenge of fly fishing, Cameron enjoys the beauty in the sport, “Fly fishing is an art. It looks graceful, but it can be hard work.”
