Fort Myers is heating up as a place to do business.
A recently released study from WalletHub ranked Fort Myers as the 10th best small city to start a business. The study looked at several metrics to determine the listings, such as startup growth, workforce availability, business costs and tax environment. Holland, Michigan, topped the list. Dania Beach (24th) and Boca Raton (28th) were the only other Florida cities to crack the top 30.
This doesn't come as too much of a surprise. Last year, a study from MoneyRates.com placed Fort Myers and Cape Coral among the top five areas for young entrepreneurs. We examined this trend a little more carefully in our recent story, Hotbed of Innovation.
