Base Operations at Page Field Top-Ranked
Base Operations at Page Field has been ranked in the top 10 percent of fixed-base operators (FBOs) in an international survey conducted by Aviation International News (AIN). This is the sixth consecutive year that Base Operations at Page Field has been named a top fixed-base operator by AIN. Base Operations ranked first in the Fort Myers/Naples area and scored in the top 20 for all FBOs in the Americas. The FBO Survey is conducted annually and asks pilots, flight attendants and dispatchers to provide feedback on the level of customer care at individual business and general aviation service providers throughout the U.S., Canada, Mexico, South and Central America, and the Caribbean. AIN conducts the survey year-round online and calculated cumulative averages from 2013 to present for this year’s results. The survey asked qualified subscribers to evaluate FBOs they visited the previous year in five categories: line service, passenger amenities, pilot amenities, facilities and customer service representatives.

Lee Home Permits up for March, Year
During March, contractors pulled 151 permits to build single-family houses collectively valued at about $35.8 million in unincorporated Lee County. That compares with 126 permits issued in February and 112 issued in March 2017, according to the Lee County Department of Community Development. Also during March, six multi-family units valued at about $614,000 were permitted, compared to 40 units in February 2018 and 48 units in March 2017. General commercial activity was valued at about $13.9 million for 19 permits, compared to about $28.8 million in February 2018 and about $4.2 million in March 2017. Lee County Community Development issued 5,773 permits of all kinds in March.

The RocketLounge Moves to Naples
The RocketLounge has moved to Naples and is preparing for a grand opening from 4-7 p.m. on April 11. The RocketLounge is now located in the Bank of America building at 4501 Tamiami Trail N., Suite 400. The new Naples location encompasses nearly 10,000 square feet, has 96 workspaces and 12 offices, numerous conference rooms, a large open meeting space and has ample parking for members and guests. This new space should also be a place for corporate innovation teams looking for digital transformation and collaboration within The RocketLounge’s tech ecosystem. Dr. Badia Earns Small-Business Award
U.S. Small Business South Florida District Office has announced the winners of the SBA’s 2018 District and State of Florida Small Business Week Awards. Dr. Anais Aurora Badia, chief medical officer and owner of Florida Skin Center in Fort Myers (South Florida District) earned the Small-Business Person of the Year award. Other awards presented to Florida businesses and professionals included the Exporter of the Year, Women's Business Center of Excellence, Small Business National Exporter of the Year, Minority-Owned Small-Business Person of the Year, Community Partner of the Year, Small-Business Advocate of the Year, Young Entrepreneur Small-Business Person of the Year, Veteran-Owned Small-Business Person of the Year, and Woman-Owned Small-Business Person of the Year. The Women in Business committee of the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for its 13th annual Apex Awards. Nominations must be submitted by April 11.
