FSW NAMES PSIHOUNTAS BUSINESS DEAN

Florida SouthWestern State College has named Dr. Debbie Psihountas as dean of the School of Business and Technology. She will oversee the plans and execution of educational activities and programs for the School of Business and Technology. Psihountas was most recently a professor of finance at Webster University in the Walker School of Business and Technology. She has held several leadership positions over the years at Webster, including MBA director, business department chair, and interim chair of business and management programs at Webster’s Geneva, Switzerland, campus. She’s also previously worked as adjunct faculty at several universities while also working full-time in the private sector. In 2012, she was named as an American Council on Education Fellow, and she worked with the president of Ball State University for the 2012-13 academic year. She has also previously held a number of sales, consulting, and corporate leadership positions with organizations including NCR Corp., Merrill Lynch, and Procter and Gamble. Psihountas has received numerous recognitions over the years.

CAPE CORAL REALTOR NATIONALLY RECOGNIZED

Bill Steinke, a Realtor with Miloff Aubuchon Realty Group, has become a Crystal R investor in the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC). RPAC is a national bipartisan grassroots-based political advocacy organization that works to protect the real estate industry and the dream of homeownership for Southwest Florida residents and across the country. Steinke has supported RPAC for seven years and been a member of the National Association of Realtors since 2011. A Certified Negotiation Expert, Steinke serves as director—sales and business development of Miloff Aubuchon Realty Group and Aubuchon Homes. Steinke serves as past president of the local Royal Palm Coast Realtor Association and has been a director for the National Association of Realtors and Florida Realtors.​

ABWA CHAPTER TO WELCOME BOARD WITH AWARDS DINNER

The Imperial River Chapter of the American Business Women's Association (ABWA) will celebrate the election of new officers at its annual awards dinner, beginning with a networking session at 6 p.m. on Aug. 8 at the Holiday Inn Fort Myers Airport at Town Center. A plated dinner and awards ceremony will follow at 6:30 p.m. Officers for the 2018-19 fiscal year include Lynda Rubenstein, president; Shelia Bedwell, vice president; Willow Terry, secretary; and Florence Del Fondo, treasurer. HALL REJOINS FLORIDA REPERTORY THEATRE BOARD

David Hall, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s executive vice president, CFO and chief operating officer, has rejoined the Florida Repertory Theatre’s board of directors. He previously served on its board of directors from 2003 to 2010. A Fort Myers resident since 1991, Hall is a founding director of Sanibel Captiva Community Bank. He holds a business degree from University of Florida and is a certified public accountant with four decades of banking experience. In addition, Hall currently serves as treasurer of Fort Myers Community Concert Association and president of the Southwest Florida Symphony Endowment Foundation board of trustees, both of which he first joined in 2008.​

BAYFRONT HEALTH WELCOMES PSYCHIATRIST

Bayfront Health Medical Group has added Dr. Gregory Arthmann, a board-eligible psychiatrist, to the team. He is seeing patients at Bayfront Health Punta Gorda Medical Office Plaza. With this addition, Bayfront Health Medical Group has recruited and added 11 providers since Jan. 1. Arthmann has more than six years of experience in the diagnosis, management and treatment of adult psychiatric patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings. His experience includes substance abuse treatment, consult and liaison, geriatric, emergency and general psychiatry. He is fluent in English and proficient in Spanish. Arthmann graduated from the University of Sint Eustatius School of Medicine in St. Eustatius, Netherlands Antilles. He completed residency in internal medicine at Wellspan York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania, and residency in psychiatry at East Carolina University Brody School of Medicine in Greenville, North Carolina. In addition to seeing patients in the office, Arthmann will treat patients in the voluntary and non-residential Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) in Punta Gorda and in the inpatient setting at Riverside Behavioral Center, also in Punta Gorda.​

CORSO TO DISCUSS DRONE LAW TO FLORIDA ENGINEERS

Henderson, Franklin, Starnes & Holt, P.A. litigation expert Michael Corso will present “Rise of the Drones: Current UAV/UAS Law Landscape” at the 2018 Florida Engineering Society/American Council of Engineering Companies of Florida Annual Conference on Friday at the JW Marriott on Marco Island. Corso, who is also an aerospace engineer, will discuss drone safety campaigns, FAA drone regulations and enforcement, federal and state legislation, and Fourth Amendment protections. Corso has been Florida Bar board-certified in civil trial law for more than 30 years and more than 20 years in business litigation law. He is chair of Henderson Franklin’s tort and insurance litigation division and the marketing committee, and he’s a member of the firm’s executive committee. Corso focuses his practice in matters involving product liability and the defense of non-medical professionals such as lawyers, accountants, architects, engineers and surveyors. Prior to joining Henderson Franklin, Corso was a captain the U.S. Air Force, and completed his military career in the Judge Advocate General (JAG) lawyer program. He received his undergraduate degree in aeronautics and astronautics from Purdue University and his law degree from Villanova University.​

Healthy Harvest Community Farms to host festival series

Healthy Harvest Community Farms will host Summer of Fit Festival Series, a free family event for all ages and fitness levels, at its Lehigh Acres facility.  The full-day of events start with a 7 a.m. 5K registration and 8 a.m. 5K kickoff, which is dedicated to fallen Fort Myers officer Adam Jobbers-Miller, on Saturday and Sept. 1. Fresh meals, fitness and cooking classes, raffles, live music, dancing, games, arts and crafts, a giant slip ‘n’ slide and more will follow the 5Ks. Live music will end at 10 p.m. Package options are available for the 5K, and donations are appreciated. This rain-or-shine series is also pet-friendly. Hope for Haiti pub crawl held Saturday

Hope for Haiti will hold its eighth annual “Hops for Haiti” Trolley Pub Crawl on Saturday in Naples. Registration will kick-off at 4 p.m. at Bone Hook Brewing Co. Each reservation includes three complimentary drink tickets (one for each venue), food specials and souvenirs. Krista Fogelsong of ABC7 will emcee the event. The goal for this year’s pub crawl is to raise $10,000 to fund 20 mobile clinics in rural southern Haiti. Tickets are available at hopeforhaiti.com/events.
