BBGI TO REPORT 2018 Q4 FINANCIALS

Beasley Broadcast Group Inc. will report its 2018 fourth quarter financial results before the market opens on Feb. 11. The company will host a conference call and webcast at 11 a.m. that morning to review the results. To access the conference call, interested parties may dial (323) 794-2591, conference ID 3270827 (domestic and international callers). Participants can also listen to a live webcast of the call at www.bbgi.com. Please allow 15 minutes to register and download and install any necessary software. Following its completion, a replay of the webcast can be accessed for five days on the company’s website. Questions from analysts, institutional investors and debt holders may be emailed to ir@bbgi.com at any time up until 10 a.m. on Feb. 11. Management will answer as many questions as possible during the conference call and webcast (provided the questions are not addressed in their prepared remarks).

IMAGINE SOLUTIONS CONFERENCE OFFERS NONPROFIT LEADERSHIP SCHOLARSHIPS 

The 2019 Imagine Solutions Conference is, once again, offering scholarships to the leadership of Southwest Florida nonprofit organizations. This year’s event, hosted by Emmy Award-winning CNBC anchor Tyler Mathisen, will feature 23 thought leaders and eight transformative topics. Valued at $330, the scholarship represents more than 50 percent of the conference’s registration fee and is available on a first-come, first-serve basis to qualified nonprofit leaders. THOMPSON NAMED FIRST WOMAN BOARD CHAIR OF CPAMERICA

Sharon M. Thompson, leading partner and managing shareholder at Hughes, Snell & Co. OSPREY CAPITAL ACQUIRES SIGHTSEEING VESSELS

Osprey Capital has expanded its boating hospitality portfolio with the purchase of Water 2 Wine Cruises in Tacoma, Washington, and the La Crosse Queen in La Crosse, Wisconsin. The expansion comes nearly a year after the group’s acquisition of the Naples Princess, a sightseeing yacht located at Port O Call Marina in Naples. Presently, the Osprey Capital boating hospitality portfolio includes assets in Florida, California, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Washington. The newly-acquired sightseeing vessels will be managed by the leadership team of the Naples Princess, who will assume their duties immediately. 

VEX ROBOTICS TOURNAMENT HELD SATURDAY

Community School of Naples (CSN) will host its first VEX Robotics tournament on Saturday. More than 25 teams will travel from all around south Florida to compete in the high school, middle and elementary divisions. These include Immokalee, Golden Gate, Naples High, Gulf Coast, Palmetto Ridge and CSN. Spectators are welcome to come anytime throughout the day, starting at 9 a.m., to watch qualification and skills challenge rounds. Championship rounds will be held between 3-4:30 p.m. These robot matches are fast-paced (less than two minutes each) making the event especially suitable for small children, a press release states.

HIRING STRATEGIES ROUNDTABLE UPCOMING

The Southwest Regional Manufacturers Association (SRMA) will host “Hiring Strategies: Recruitment & Retention” from 8-9:30 a.m. on Feb. 20 at Hodges University in Naples. Moderator Bill Welch, business services account executive for CareerSource Southwest Florida, will lead the following panel of hiring experts: Mike Boose, human resources and organizational director of Arthrex; Dorin Oxender, director of iTech; Doug Gyure, CEO of S4J Manufacturing; and Ted Bill, CEO of Pelican Wire. TAYLOR SPEAKS ON EMPLOYMENT LAW

Damian Taylor, partner at Coleman, Hazzard, Taylor, Klaus, Doupé & Diaz, on Feb. 5 spoke at the monthly Trial Law Luncheon organized by the Collier County Bar Association. Taylor spoke on “Hot Topics in Employment Law,” including the Department of Labor’s (DOL’s) proposed rules on eligibility for overtime pay, the latest cases on non-compete agreements, and the legality of workplace rules under the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). Taylor represents clients in labor and employment matters and general civil litigation. He has trial experience in state and federal courts and defended employers against claims under state and federal whistleblower statutes and many labor and employment laws.

Guadalupe Resale Shop will host a Collection Day event from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Pelican Bay Community Park in Naples. Volunteers will be on hand to collect donations of like-new furniture, home décor, kitchenware, artwork, lamps, linens, DVDs and CDs, books and all types of nearly new ladies and men’s clothing, including accessories such as jewelry, purses and shoes. All donations to Guadalupe Resale Shop are tax-deductible, and proceeds support Guadalupe Center’s mission of breaking the cycle of poverty through education for the children of Immokalee. Lee BIA Builders Care sets date for BBQ, Bands & Brew 

Lee BIA Builders Care, the nonprofit charitable arm of the Lee Building Industry Association (BIA), will host its 10th annual BBQ, Bands & Brew event, presented by All Star Equipment Rentals & Sales, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on April 7 at at Centennial Park in Fort Myers. Celebrating this milestone year, the event will feature a competition for the title of “Best BBQ in Town,” live music, numerous vendors, and activities for all ages. Harry Chapin Food Bank invites supporters to take part in Give Where You Live Collier. The 24-hour, online fundraising challenge lasts from noon on Feb. 20 to 11:59 a.m. on Feb. 21. The event, held by the Community Foundation of Collier County and the Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation, will benefit nonprofits that serve the Collier community. The Harry Chapin Food Bank is among 40 nonprofits participating in this event. The food bank provides food to those in need through a network of more than 150 agencies in Collier, Charlotte, Hendry, Glades and Lee Counties, with 35 of those agencies in Collier County. 5K run benefits Take Stock in Children program

The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools held its eighth annual Strides for Education 5K Run on Feb. 2. The event, hosted at Florida SouthWestern State College’s Lee Campus, raised money for The Foundation’s Take Stock in Children program. The event drew in 1,336 people, who helped raise $35,000. All proceeds will go towards college tuition scholarships for students who graduate from The Take Stock in Children Program. Schools and businesses throughout Lee County were challenged to create the largest team by creating a friendly competition. This year’s winners School Challenge: Team Heights (Heights Elementary), Corporate Challenge: Edison National Bank/Bank of the Islands; and Community Partner: Miles in Memory of Erik Babatz. Suncoast Credit Union served as the title sponsor.​
