CHICO’S NAMES PRESIDENT, RELEASES FINANCIAL REPORT

Chico's FAS Inc. has appointed Karen McKibbin as president of its Chico's brand, effective April 1. McKibbin will oversee all business activities for Chico's and will report directly to Shelley Broader, chief executive officer and president of the company.

McKibbin joins Chico's after a career with Nordstrom Inc. She most recently served as president of Nordstrom Rack, the company's fastest growing brand. Prior to that role, she was president of Nordstrom Canada, leading the company's expansion into the Canadian market. Previously at Nordstrom, she served as vice president and led four different regions for the company. McKibbin received her Bachelor of Arts degree from University of California, San Diego.

 Chico's FAS Inc. has also released its financial results for the fiscal 2018 fourth quarter and fiscal year ended Feb 2. For the fourth quarter, the company reported a net loss of $16.6 million, compared with a net income of $28 million for last year’s fourth quarter. For fiscal 2018, the company reported net income of $35.6 million, compared with a net income of $101 million in fiscal 2017.

JA OF SWFL NAMES COPHAM, WILLIS FAMILY TO BUSINESS HALL OF FAME

Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida will induct Dave Copham and Scott and Diana Willis into its 2019 Business Hall of Fame, Lee County. The laureates will be honored during a dinner and awards ceremony on April 18 at the Hyatt Regency Coconut Point Resort & Spa in Bonita Springs, with a cocktail reception at 5 p.m. and dinner at 6:30 p.m.

Copham is the founder of Liberty Check Printers. He sold the company in 2005 and is now retired, supporting many charities in the area. Scott and Diana Willis are the president and vice president of the Wilrock Group, LLC and its subsidiaries, doing business as Jason's Deli of Southwest Florida. They also support many area nonprofits.

Business sponsorships are now available for the 2019 Business Hall of Fame, Lee County. Sponsors are also needed to support student admission, which is $125 per ticket. ST. MATTHEW’S HOUSE UNVEILS AGRICULTURAL PROJECT

St. Matthew’s House unveiled an ecological and agricultural project on March 1 at Port LaBelle Inn and Conference Center. The team at St. Matthew’s House will work with a local Boy Scout troop to install Hydro-Stackers, a vertical hydroponic growing system, to help produce healthy food to feed the most vulnerable in Southwest Florida, a press release states.

At peak production, the new Hydro-Stackers are expected to produce 600-800 pounds of fresh produce per week. The produce will go directly to feed the men and women in St. Matthew’s House programs and provide job training as well. For more information, visit www.stmatthewshouse.org.

DRESS FOR SUCCESS SWFL, CHICO’S FAS EXPAND PARTNERSHIP

Dress for Success SW Florida has expanded its partnership with Chico’s FAS Inc. and the Women Empowered Through Employment Series (WETES). The program, now in its third year, mentors women to enhance their career opportunities while building awareness in the community and creating partnerships with employers. 

The six-week program begins March 20, and for the first time, will be hosted and underwritten by Chico’s FAS Inc. VACCARIELLO OPENS LAW FIRM 

Litigation attorney Rebecca M. Vaccariello in January opened Rebecca M. Vaccariello, P.A. at 780 Fifth Ave. S., Suite 200, Naples. The litigation firm focuses on guardianship and fiduciary litigation and advice.

Vaccariello has been practicing law for a total of 20 years, practicing in Naples since 2012.  Vaccariello counsels clients who are power of attorney agents, health surrogates, trustees, personal representatives, curators, and beneficiaries of wills and trusts in contested litigation and disputes prior to litigation.

Vaccariello was named the 2017 Attorney of the Year by Legal Aid Services of Collier County and a 2016 Leader in the Law by Florida Association for Women Lawyers. The Southwest Florida Regional Technology Partnership (SWFRTP) will present a free, two-part TechTalk, “Effective Digital Marketing,” which will cover best practices and the latest trends in search engine optimization and search engine marketing.

Part one of the two-part series will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on March 14 and part two will be held from 5:30- 7:30 p.m. on March 21, both at Two39 Work in Bonita Springs. Light food and beverages will be provided.
