Dubin Alzheimer’s Resource Center for 15 years. The Arlington of Naples has welcomed Jessica Short as the resort retirement community’s new executive director. Throughout her career in senior living, Short has held roles of increasing responsibility in sales and marketing, finance, and administration. As an executive director, she has managed life plan communities (also referred to as Continuing Care Retirement Communities—CCRCs). Short was hired to the role after a nationwide search to find the right leader for the community.

ELC TO HOST SEASON KICKOFF
The Emerging Leadership Council (ELC) will the host seventh annual Season Kickoff from 6-10 p.m. on Nov. 3 at Hyatt House Naples 5th Avenue. NEIGHBORHOOD HEALTH CLINIC GUILD EVENT SET
The Neighborhood Health Clinic Guild will host its annual Welcome Back Reception from 5:30-7:00 p.m. on Nov. 8 at the Naples Art Association. For the first time in the event’s history, the Welcome Back Reception will introduce the clinic to those interested in supporting the charity’s mission, welcome supporters returning for season, and feature a keynote presentation, “Healthy Supplements Today,” by Dr. Damon Burkhart, a Florida-licensed pharmacist who serves as the medication room director at the clinic. Burkhart previously served as pharmacy manager of a 24-hour pharmacy, and he holds a doctorate degree in pharmacy from The University of Florida, with a specialty license in both pharmacy and consulting pharmacy. BEEBE JOINS SEASIDE SURGERY CENTER
Dr. Paul E. Beebe has joined the physician-partner team at Seaside Surgery Center in Naples. The physician-owned, multi-specialty ambulatory surgery center is the only ASC in Southwest Florida to offer same-day outpatient joint replacement surgery, according to a press release. Beebe graduated from the University of Tulsa and received his medical degree from the University of Kansas. He completed his internship at the University of Missouri–Kansas City and his residency in anesthesia at the University of Kansas. Beebe then completed a fellowship in interventional pain management at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago. Beebe specializes in treating patients with chronic pain symptoms using a variety of methods, including epidural steroid injections; facet joint, piriformis, and joint injections; radiofrequency ablation; ultrasound-guided nerve blocks; and placement of spinal cord stimulators. Beebe is board certified in anesthesia by the American Board of Anesthesiology and board certified in interventional pain management.

Client services leaders from Gartner Inc. will offer professionals insight into the IT advisory company during the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership NEXT program in November. The two-hour session begins at 5:15 p.m. on Nov. 13 at Building 2 of Gartner’s headquarters in Fort Myers. Two key members of Gartner’s leadership team are teaming up to provide attendees with an overview of the company’s history and services: Michael Chalk, group vice president of premium services, and Jennifer Straley, vice president of client partner organizations supporting end-user clients. Following their presentation, a panel of company leaders will answer questions before networking opportunities begin. Pushing the Envelope Inc. has hired Kiara Panio as digital marketing coordinator. In this role, Panio is responsible for assisting in the development and execution of social media campaigns, email and SMS campaigns, including daily management of accounts; content development; audience engagement; advertising; monitoring and analysis of social media trends and SEO/SEM efforts. Panio comes with years of experience in marketing coordination, social media management and graphic design. Most recently she was the marketing coordinator at Prima Luce. Collier County March for Babies chair named
The March of Dimes has selected Jennifer Johnson of True Fashionistas as the 2019 Collier County March for Babies chair. The Collier County March for Babies event will take place at 6:30 p.m. on on April 27 at the North Collier Regional Park/Sun-N-Fun Lagoon. Last year in Collier County, March for Babies raised more than $195,000. Johnson has made the commitment to raise $200,000 as the 2019 goal, with community support. Donations needed for Full Plates Project
Community Cooperative is calling upon Southwest Florida individuals, businesses and community groups to help collect the more than 2,000 turkeys needed for its Full Plates Project. The annual Full Plates Project provides prepared Thanksgiving meals for those who cannot cook and Thanksgiving dinner kits for those who have the ability to cook but are unable to afford the additional cost of a holiday meal. Community Cooperative relies on monetary donations and in-kind turkey and non-perishable food donations. Food donations can be dropped off to the main office located at 3429 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. no later than Friday, Nov. 16. Monetary donations can be made online and checks can be made out to Community Cooperative and mailed to P.O. Box 2143, Fort Myers, FL 33902. Red Sox scholarship applications now open
The Boston Red Sox Foundation will once again award 13 $5,000 scholarships in the spring of 2019 to one student from each of the 13 public high schools in Lee County. Applications are now open and available to Lee County public high school seniors by contacting their high school guidance counselors, applying online here or calling (617) 226-6004. Applications are due by Dec. 31 to FLScholarship@redsox.com. The scholarship is for academically talented students who have shown a commitment to community service and are pursuing a two- or four- year degree at any college or university. Scholarship funds are raised annually from proceeds of the Red Sox annual Swings for the Sox Golf Tournament. In the past six years the Red Sox Foundation has raised more than $260,000 for local nonprofits and scholarships.
Guardian ad Litem Foundation to host Trivia Nit
Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit, will host Trivia Nite on Nov. 1 to raise money for a program pairing volunteer advocates with abused, neglected and abandoned children. Trivia Nite will be managed by Spotlight Entertainment of SWFL and held from 5-7:30 p.m. on Nov. 1 at Bokampers Sports Bar & Grill in Naples. Trivia categories may include arts and entertainment, sports, science and nature, geography, history, riddles and more. The cost to participate is $50 per person and includes an appetizer buffet and drinks. Individual participants and teams are eligible to compete for prizes. Participants and spectators will be able to register for a 50/50 drawing. Trivia Nite is the first in a series of seven fundraising events that will generate support for Guardian ad Litem Foundation’s ‘I am for the child’ program. Preferred Travel of Naples sponsor children’s museum outing
Preferred Travel of Naples sponsored 17 children from Immokalee for a day at the CMON Museum on Oct. 20. The outing was arranged in partnership with pastor Arnie Coones from First Assembly Ministries of Immokalee. In lieu of gifts for National Boss’s Day, held Oct. 16, the staff of Preferred Travel of Naples pulled together more than $400 in donations to sponsor the Immokalee children for their outing. The day was gifted in honor of Wilma Boyd, President and CEO of Preferred Travel of Naples, and Olga Placeres, CFO and agency manager at Preferred Travel of Naples.
