LEE HEALTH HOSPITALS RATED ‘HIGH PERFORMING’

Lee Memorial Hospital and HealthPark Medical Center earned recognition as a 2018 Best Regional Hospital, ranking No. 12 in Florida out of 250 hospitals evaluated by U.S. News & World Report. The hospitals, combined, earned “High Performance” ratings in six medical procedures and conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), heart failure, hip replacement, knee replacement, lung cancer surgery and heart bypass surgery. The ranking is two spots ahead of 2017. Cape Coral Hospital and Gulf Coast Medical Center earned “High Performance” ratings in COPD and heart failure. The annual U.S. News “Best Hospitals” analysis reviews facilities' performance in clinical specialties, conditions and procedures. Scores are based on several factors, including patient safety, survival, nurse staffing and more. Hospitals are ranked nationally and regionally within states and major metro areas. FL STAR NAMES CFO

FL Star, a conglomerate of real estate entities, added David Nieminski to the position of chief financial officer. Projects by FL Star include Milano Lakes, an apartment community in Naples, and Sapphire Cove, a new development of single-family homes also in Naples. As CFO, Nieminski will oversee accounting function, including financial planning, cash management, financial reporting, bonding, and job cost monitoring, as well as tax planning and year-end reviews. Nieminski most recently served as controller for Jackson Demolition Service Inc. in Schenectady, New York, and Breakwater Contracting Inc. in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. His professional career spans nearly 25 years and includes positions as controller for the JRN Development Group LLC; controller of the Barry, Bette & Led Duke Management Group in Albany, New York; and The Carver Group of Cos. in Altamont, New York.  Prior to joining Jackson Demolition Services, Nieminski serve as controller for Habana Premium Cigars Ltd. and Cos. in Albany, New York. Nieminski earned his Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of the State of New York in Albany.

RMC HEADQUARTERS MOVING TO BONITA

RMC is moving its headquarters to the Riverview Corporate Center in Bonita Springs on Oct. 1. The move to Bonita Springs will enable RMC to grow its business. RMC offers risk consulting and management, insurance brokerage, alternative risk financing, retirement consulting and administration and insurance program management services to businesses, government entities, organizations and individuals. CCIM HONORS MIZE FOR SERVICE

Maryann Mize, senior vice president and senior credit officer at Charlotte State Bank & Trust, was among 16 Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) instructors recently honored by the CCIM Institute for their years of distinguished service. Mize and other instructors have taken thousands of candidates through the CCIM designation program, a deep dive into investment real estate from every perspective, which can be immediately applied in the field. Mize earned CCIM designation in 2006 and became a certified CCIM instructor in 2008. She was appointed a CCIM Senior Instructor in 2012, when she was invited to serve on the CCIM Institute’s Education Marketing and Faculty Committees. As a senior instructor, she earned the Institute’s Rising Star Award for receiving top ratings from her students. In addition, Mize chaired the Institute’s Ward Center for Real Estate Studies and has participated as a moderator and presenter at the CCIM national conferences. She also serves as treasurer of the CCIM Southwest Florida District.

UNITED WAY ADDS FOUR PARTNER AGENCIES

The United Way of Lee County has announced that four new Partner Agencies will receive funding from United Way: Cancer Alliance of Naples serving Lee County, Cape Coral Caring Center, Gulf Coast Humane Society, and Midwest Food Bank. The addition of the new agencies brings the total number of Lee County agencies to 80, with more than 245 programs. Every year United Way of Lee County uses its Allocations Process to evaluate each partner agency that receives funding, and review applications from new prospective agencies.  Over 425 volunteers participated in the process of reviewing applications and visiting each of the agencies. The United Way of Lee, Hendry, Glades, and Okeechobee has raised and distributed more than $167 million since it was established in 1957. FOX NOMINATED AS PROSECUTOR OF THE YEAR

The Southwest Florida Women’s Foundation Inc. has nominated Amira Fox as Prosecutor of the Year for her work combating and preventing human trafficking. Fox and her State Attorney’s Office (SAO), 20th Judicial Circuit, focus on the broad view of the realities of human trafficking from investigation to prosecution, with victim support as a top priority. The Southwest Florida Human Trafficking Task Force, which is co-convened by Fox’s SAO 20th Circuit team and the U.S. Attorney’s Office, has fostered communication between law enforcement agencies and service providers with a focus on victims having access to the vital services they need to survive, according to a press release. Fox has supported the human tracking data collection project, developed by the Southwest Florida Women’s Foundation, by implementing the project in the 20th Circuit this year and offering to expand human trafficking data collection statewide through partnerships with other judicial circuits. Data is collected from all agencies that interact with victims of human trafficking. The analyzed information from this system will provide a detailed understanding of regional level and cross agency human trafficking activities to facilitate an effective regional response developed and implemented, according to a press release.

Collier County school teachers can purchase tickets to the eight annual Love That Dress! Collier event at a discounted price. The event will take place Friday from 6-9 p.m. at The Ritz-Carlton Beach Resort. Guests can shop more than 3,000 dresses priced between $10 and $40. Tickets for Love That Dress!, benefiting PACE Center for Girls-Collier, are on sale for $35 per person online only at www.LoveThatDress.org. Collier County school teachers may purchase tickets for $20 this year at the door with school badge.

Property with a Purpose to offer free venue leasing to select nonprofits

Top Rocker Events at Six Bends is launching Property with a Purpose as part of Scott Fischer Enterprises to give two nonprofits the use of either Top Rocker Field or Thunder Plaza for free this season. Locally focused nonprofits can apply on toprockerevents.com between now and Sept. 30. The primary criteria for selection is that the money raised during the event benefits the Southwest Florida community. To qualify, nonprofits must be valid, registered and able to provide their own liability insurance. Rentals, entertainment, permitting and other costs beyond the use of the venue are not included. Top Rocker Field is a gated 3.13-acre outdoor facility with room for 4,000 attendees. It has three entrances and a semi-truck entrance for large events. Thunder Plaza is 20,000 square feet and can accommodate 1,000 people. Both are located at Six Bends in Fort Myers.
