Sixty-five percent of job seekers search for positions via their mobile devices at least once a day, according to a recent infographic by Beyond.com.
According to the career networking website, job hunters said they are able to find openings anytime and anywhere via their mobile devices, many times getting the first look at new listings. Some even said they apply for positions via their phones.
However, for many job seekers, being able to search for employment through various websites is not enough. Seventy-three percent of people said they would like to receive job alerts via text messaging, the infographic shows.
So, next time you need a position filled, consider marketing it beyond your own website—send newsletter and social media alerts and make sure the other sites you post to are mobile-friendly. You can also have potential applicants add their phone numbers privately to your website to be notified via text message whenever a job opens.
