This lecture will be an overview of how a film gets to a theater (or doesn't), the completion of the technical and marketing side of the motion picture process, post-production (i.e., editing, sound effects, special effects and music), and the sales, distribution, marketing and selling of a movie to the public. You will learn how to participate in film festivals and how The Motion Picture Academy (Oscars) works. The question of ancillary income available today, “Must a film play in theaters to make money?" will be discussed and answered.
