Clicking with customers
>>MIVA Media, a division of MIVA Inc. (Nasdaq: MIVA) (www.miva.com), has released its Precision Network, which helps online advertisers reach targeted customers through narrower distribution within specific categories. MIVA’s existing Core Network, on the other hand, offers broad distribution through relationships with thousands of third-party Web sites, helping advertisers reach an increasingly fragmented consumer audience.

Big builder
>>America’s First Home (www.afh.net) of Fort Myers has been ranked 71st on Builder magazine’s Builder 100 listing for 2006. The company advanced three spots from the previous year, when it debuted at 74th. It was cited for increased training of its sales team, which led to a 70 percent reduction of standing inventory and boosted revenue by 33 percent.

Soaring to new flights
>>Five airlines have decided to expand or continue flights at Southwest Florida International Airport for the summer. Air Canada will offer service to Toronto; Air Tran Airways will begin flights to Kansas City, Mo.; LTU will operate three weekly flights to Düsseldorf and two weekly flights to Munich; Frontier will operate one daily nonstop flight to Denver; Midwest Airlines will keep its daily nonstop service to Kansas City, Mo., throughout the summer; and WestJet for the first time will operate one weekly nonstop flight to Toronto. Hurricane workshops
>>It’s estimated that 43 percent of businesses that close following a disaster never reopen and 29 percent will close permanently within two years. Find out how to avoid becoming one of those statistics at hurricane-preparedness workshops planned by Florida Gulf Coast University’s Small Business Development Center at several locations. Participants will learn about business-continuity planning and insurance. The workshop options are: 8:30 to 10 a.m. June 4 at Edison College, Collier Campus; 3:30 to 5 p.m., June 4 at Career & Service Center in Immokalee; 3:30 to 5 p.m. June 5 at the Lee County Economic Development Center in Fort Myers; 9:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. June 6 at City Hall in LaBelle; and 1:15 to 3 p.m. June 6 at John Boy Auditorium in Clewiston. Law firm on the move
>>Fowler White Boggs Banker (www.fowlerwhite.com) has relocated its Fort Myers offices to the former Heritage Building at 2235 First St., where its 15 attorneys will work in 19,000 square feet of space in the three-story building.

Top golf merchandiser
>>Verandah’s (www.verandah.com) director of golf, Chris Trottier, has been named Merchandiser of the Year for the Southwest Florida Chapter PGA. The award recognizes PGA pros who excel in customer service and satisfaction, sales, promoting the game of golf and philanthropic contributions. Trottier earned the honor in the private club facility category and was credited with earning both the highest customer service rating and profit margin within Bonita Bay Group’s golf clubs. He was recognized also for helping raise more than $10,000 for the American Red Cross and the Hurricane Katrina Fund, among other benevolent acts.

Kardas to run leadership program
>>On June 1, Jessica Kardas will become the first full-time executive of the Leadership Collier Foundation, which was founded four years ago to support the 19-year-old Leadership Collier Program, offered by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce (www.napleschamber.org). Kardas, a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, has served as the chamber’s vice president of community relations for the past year managing the leadership programs.

Detox center renamed
>>The David Lawrence Foundation (www.davidlawrencecenter.org) has renamed its detoxification unit to Herrmann Detox Center after George Tim Herrmann, a supporter who helped raise the critical funding necessary to open the unit in 2000.

YMCA names new CEO
>>James K. Sanger Jr. has been appointed CEO of YMCA of Lee County (www.leecountyymca.org). He was chosen out of pool of 37 applicants. Sanger has more than 18 years of experience in YMCA operations, fundraising and strategic planning. He most recently served as vice president of operations for YMCA of York and York County in Pennsylvania.
