HMA EARNINGS EXPECTATIONS
>>Health Management Associates Inc. (NYSE: HMA) says it expects to report a fourth-quarter net revenue of $1.1 billion and earnings per diluted share of between 7 cents and 8 cents. That would include 1 cent per share from a lower income tax for the quarter. The revenue estimate matches that of Wall Street; however, the earnings per share could fall short of the 8 cents analysts are expecting. Naples-based HMA will announce the fourth-quarter and year-end results after the market closes on Feb. 20.
BEASLEY FINANCIALS SCHEDULED
>>Beasley Broadcast Group Inc. (Nasdaq: BBGI) (www.bbgi.com) will release its 2007 fourth-quarter and year-end financial results before the market opens on Feb.14. The company will host a conference call and simultaneous Web cast later at 11 a.m. Both the call and Web cast are open to the general public.
TAKING OFF

>> Ken Kensinger has joined J.L. Wallace Inc. (www.jlwallaceinc.com) as project manager. He will oversee and manage all aspects of job site construction. Kensinger has 27 years of experience in construction management.
LEED ARCHITECT
>>Ronald G. Billy Jr. of Tyson and Billy Architects, which has a Cape Coral office, has earned his Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional (AP) accreditation. LEED is the nationally accepted benchmark for the design, construction and operation of high performance green buildings developed by the U.S. Green Building Council.
FACULTY INSTRUCTOR
>>Sports medicine specialist James J. Guerra, M.D., medical director at Collier Sports Medicine & Orthopaedic Center (www.colliersportsmedicine.com) in Naples, served as a faculty instructor at the inaugural Georgia-Alabama Sports Medicine Symposium on Friday and Saturday at The Hughston Foundation in Columbus, Ga. More than 125 orthopedic surgeons from across the country attended the two-day seminar, sponsored by Naples-based Arthrex Inc., a manufacturer of arthroscopic surgical instruments.
COMMITTEE APPOINTMENT
>>The Lee County Port Authority Airports Special Management Committee has named Robert Taylor chair and Fran Myers vice chair. Other members of the committee include Dan Baggot, Joseph Burgess, Jeffrey Fridkin, Rufus Lazzell and Kevin Ostrowsky. The committee advises the Lee County commissioners, sitting as the Board of Port Commissioners, on policy matters pertaining to Southwest Florida International Airport and Page Field General Aviation Airport in Fort Myers.

RED SOX NIGHT
>>The Crowne Plaza Hotel at Bell Tower will host the Boys & Girls Clubs of Lee County third annual “Evening with the Red Sox” from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 26. The event is open to the public. The hotel at 13051 Bell Tower Drive in south Fort Myers will be host to Mike Dee, chief operating officer of the Red Sox and guest speaker for the evening, Wally the team mascot, as well as active and retired players. Sponsorships are still available and all the proceeds raised will go to assist the Boys & Girls Clubs with future programs and services. Tickets are $100 per person or $175 for a couple.
