CANCER CLINICAL TRIALS
>>Sanibel Island resident and inventor John Kanzius
announced that Lee Memorial Health System will be one of a small number of host sites for the human clinical trials of his continued cancer research. Lee Memorial was chosen because it has the staff and facilities researchers were looking for as they move testing to the human phase.

INTERIOR DESIGNER
>>Odle McGuire Shook
(www.omscorp.net) has hired Cheryl Lewandowski as an interior designer in the firm’s Bonita Springs office. Lewandowski’s commercial design experience includes government, healthcare, corporate and financial, and utilities and institutional. She has been a licensed interior designer in Florida since 1990.

Coughlin has worked with Engle Homes of Southwest Florida for 10 years in construction and operational management. He was formerly a deputy inspector and commanding officer with the New York State Fugitive Squad.

TECHXPO SCHEDULED
>>The Bonita Springs Area Chamber of Commerce
will hold its second annual TechXPO Business Exposition from 3:30 to 7:30 p.m. March 13 at the Embassy Suites Fort Myers-Estero at 10450 Corkscrew Commons Drive in Estero. The event will showcase local technology companies. TechXPO will be held in conjunction with the chamber’s business after hours. The event is free to the public from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m.; after 4:30 p.m., all visitors will be charged at the standard business after hours rates. For more information, call 992-2943.

CORPORATE PARK

has leased more than 23,000 square feet at a building under construction at Six Mile Corporate Park in Fort Myers. The law firm will occupy the top floor of the two-story, 47,358-square-foot office structure. Development of the 8.09 acre corporate office park on Six Mile Cypress Parkway also includes construction of the eastern portion of Crystal Drive, which will eventually provide direct access to Metro Parkway and U.S. 41. Plans include two sites for individual office buildings, both fronting on Six Mile Cypress Parkway.


CONTRACT AWARDED

(www.pbscontractors.com) has been awarded the construction contract for Tropical Smoothie’s newest location in Ave Maria’s town center. Designed by OMS Architects, the restaurant will feature indoor and outdoor seating and will incorporate the franchise’s island theme with bright colors and bamboo accents.

FLEX DEVELOPMENT
>>Construction is under way by the Waldrop Group
on Phase II of Jetport Commerce Park, at 13720 Jetport Commerce Parkway, Fort Myers. The industrial flex development is just east of I-75 in the Jetport Interstate Commerce Park. Each of the 16 office/warehouse units in the second phase contains 2,464 square feet of lease space, with approximately 1,452 square feet warehouse and 1,012 square feet office.
