UNITED WAY BEATS GOAL
>>United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades Counties (www.unitedwaylee.org) reports that more than $7.6 million has been donated, surpassing the goal of $7.2 million. It’s a 10 percent increase over the last year’s amount, making it the 10th straight year contributions have reached a double-digit increase.
TIMMERMAN JOINS FISHKIND
>>Michael Timmerman has joined Fishkind & Associates in its Naples office as a senior associate. He will work in the residential and commercial advisory group and assist in expanding the geographical information systems group for the company. Timmerman has more than 25 years of experience in the economic analysis of residential and commercial real estate. Before joining Fishkind & Associates, Timmerman had founded Feasinomics, a Naples-based residential consulting firm that he sold to Hanley Wood in 2005. He then served as the managing director of Hanley Wood Market Intelligence.

>>Northern Trust has named Paul H. Barlow as vice president and wealth strategist in the company’s Bonita Springs office. He is responsible for providing investment management, trust services and private banking solutions to affluent clients.

>>McGarvey Development (www.mcgarveydevelopment.com) has completed construction of Ad Systems’ new corporate headquarters at 14580 Global Parkway in Fort Myers. The two-story building features 37,344 square feet of flex space in the International Commerce Park to be occupied by Ad Systems and Lamar.
BOAT-LIFT DONATION
>>Ben L. Nelson Jr., president of Nelson Marine Construction Co., has donated two solar-powered boat lifts for the Florida Gulf Coast University Norm and Nancy Vester Marine and Environmental Science Research Field Station in Bonita Springs. The 10,000-pound lifts are manufactured by Quality Boat Lifts of Fort Myers, and will have new motors installed by Nelson Marine Construction. The retail value of the two lifts with installation is more than $15,000.

>>March’s Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Gulf Coast Chapter meeting will feature a program titled “Rebranding Your Organization.” The session will feature Rita Lampus, vice president of student enrollment management for Hodges University, and Kit Chamberlain, director of public relations for Avow Hospice, whose organizations recently underwent name changes.
