BELL TOWER SHOPS UNDERGOING A FACELIFT  

>>Work began in May on a multimillion-dollar renovation to Bell Tower Shops (www.TheBellTowerShops.com), slated for completion this fall. The work is not expected to interfere with shoppers. Included will be new exterior color scheme, enhanced access, new tile, pavers, awnings and lighting, modern furnishings, restoration of the bell in the tower, improved landscaping and signage, refurbished fountains and a new branding package and logo. An expanded calendar of events will include year-round activities and promotions. Sarasota-based ADP Group designed the redevelopment plan. 

SYNOVUS NAMES SR. VP / COMMERCIAL BANKING FOR SWF  
>>Douglas Buchanan joined Synovus Bank as senior vice president / commercial banking team leader for the Southwest Florida region. Buchanan has more than 15 years of banking experience, including senior roles at Riverside Bank in Cape Coral and First National Bank of Florida. He earned his bachelor’s in business administration from Orlando College and a master’s degree in finance from Boston College Graduate School of Management. Synovus Bank (www.synovusbankfl.com) operates 26 full-service banking centers in Charlotte, Collier, Hillsborough, Lee, Pasco, Pinellas, Manatee and Sarasota counties.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY DEDICATES 1,000TH HOME  
>>Habitat for Humanity of Lee County, which serves Lee and Hendry counties, dedicated its 1,000th home Friday. The roof on the LaBelle house was raised earlier this year in memory and honor of Habitat’s founder Millard Fuller, who died in February. Only four other Habitat affiliates in the world have raised as many homes as Lee County’s chapter.

HOLTZ JOINS JURSINSKI FIRM  
>>Jason W. Holtz has joined the Law Office of Kevin F. Jursinski, P.A., in Fort Myers, and will focus his area of practice in foreclosure defense, commercial litigation, mortgage negotiations and other real estate-related matters. Holtz was the senior attorney for the Florida Division of Real Estate, overseeing all litigation pertaining to real estate brokerage, appraisal and licensing. He is admitted to the New York Bar and the Florida Bar.

7L BRANDS HIRES SHAFFER AS VP OF SALES  
>>Alan Shaffer has joined 7L Brands (www.7LBrands.com), a division of Lykes Bros. Inc., as the vice president of sales and marketing, responsible for working with environmental organizations, landscape contractors, landscape architects, retailers and municipalities promoting the benefits of renewable, sustainable eucalyptus mulch. He has more than two decades of marketing, merchandising and strategic planning leadership. His recent positions include vice president of sales, marketing and store operations of Forestry Resources, and marketing and planning positions with Shemin Nurseries in Connecticut., TrueValue Corp. in Chicago and Handy Andy Home Improvement Centers in Illinois.


EMPLOYEE ASSISTANCE SERVICES ADDS RAMBOSK AS COORDINATOR  
>>Employee Assistance Services of Southwest Florida (www.easofswflorida.com) has named Carolyn Rambosk the new employee assistance program coordinator, providing local businesses with employee counseling and early identification of personal issues that may affect job performance. She will also provide critical-incident stress debriefing services and drug-free-workplace programming. A licensed mental health counselor, she was most recently in private practice at Naples Counseling Associates. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Medical Reserve Corps. EAS is an affiliate of the David Lawrence Center.


GULFCOAST CONSULTING WINS RENAL ASSOCIATES PROJECT 
>>Gulfcoast Consulting Group Inc. (www.gcg-designbuild.com), a design-build, construction management/general contractor in Fort Myers, has been awarded a project to expand the current American Renal Associates Inc. facility at 4529 Executive Drive, Naples. The expansion will include four new treatment stations and two new patient training rooms.  Moore & Spence Architects PA is the architect.

J.L. WALLACE TO BUILD IMMOKALEE HOUSING 
>>Florida Non-Profit Services Inc. awarded a contract to J.L. Wallace Inc. (www.jlwallaceinc.com) to construct Esperanza Place Apartments, Phase I, an affordable-housing development for farm workers in Immokalee. The project, financed by USDA and Florida Housing Finance Corp., will include the construction of three two-story multi-family buildings with units ranging from about 800 square feet to 1,350 square feet for a three bedroom. The development will provide housing for 47 families. Construction is expected to begin by August and finish by May, 2010. David Grossman will serve as project manager and Robbyn Spears will be project manager assistant. Architectural design services were provided by Slocum Platts.
