LOCAL LAWYERS EARN RECOGNITION 

>>Nine local lawyers are among the 226 Florida Bar members who earned legal board certification in civil trial or tax law in 1983 and have remained certified for 25 years. Board certification is The Florida Bar's highest level of evaluation of attorneys' competency and experience. Certified attorneys are the only Florida lawyers allowed to identify or advertise themselves as specialists or experts. The following in the Twentieth Judicial Circuit have earned the recognition in Civil Trial: Michael Joseph Corso, Henderson Franklin, Fort Myers; George Gordon Harrison, Pavese Law Firm, Fort Myers; Kim Patrick Hart, Kim Patrick Hart, PA, Fort Myers; William Douglas Keith, Cardillo, Keith & Bonaquist, P.A., Naples; Honorable Daniel Robert Monaco, Naples; J. Jeffrey Rice, Goldstein Buckley, et al, Fort Myers; and T. Rankin Terry Jr., Fort Myers. Those recognized in the Tax Law specialty are Joe Bruce Cox, Cox & Nici, Naples; and William N. Horowitz, Cummings & Lockwood LLC, Bonita Springs.

CHARLOTTE SPORTS PARK EARNS EXCELLENCE AWARD 
>>Associated Builders & Contractors has recognized the renovation of the Charlotte Sports Park with an Excellence in Construction Award. In a joint effort of the Hunt Construction Group and Mathews/Taylor Construction (www.mathewsconstruction.com or www.taylorcontractors.com), the park was renovated into a spring training facility for the Tampa Bay Rays. The $28 million project was awarded in the Sports Complex Renovation $20-plus million category. It was designed to meet standards for environmental efficiency, including such features as a green roof with live vegetation. The intent is to achieve LEED certification.

MAZZARA JOINS HAHN LOESER 
>>Justin B. Mazzara has joined Hahn Loeser & Parks LLP (www.hahnlaw.com) as an associate in the Fort Myers office. Mazzara has practiced in commercial litigation in Southwest Florida for the past two years and will continue his practice at Hahn Loeser in Litigation. He earned his B.A. from the University of West Florida and his J.D. from the University of Florida, Levin College of Law.


ARC ADDS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR 
>>Carlos Navedo has joined the Animal Refuge Center (www.animalrefuge.com) as development director, responsible for enhancing community awareness of ARC's programs and moving it forward in its 10-year plan to double its ability to shelter and adopt pets in need. ARC currently houses 450 abandoned cats and dogs. Navedo was previously development director of Health Start of SW Florida and Big Brothers/ Big Sisters of SW Florida. He was also appointed by former Gov. Jeb Bush to a food-distribution task force in the wake of Hurricane Wilma and to train volunteers in New Orleans to help after Hurricane Katrina.

SWFL ATTRACTIONS ASSOCIATION PLANS ANNUAL MEETING 
>>The Southwest Florida Attractions Association (www.swflattractions.com) will hold its annual dinner meeting and the induction of the 2009-2010 board May 20 at the Hilton Garden Inn. Networking will begin at 5:30 p.m., the induction ceremony will be at 6 p.m. and dinner will follow. Attendees are asked to take canned goods to be donated to local food banks. MYERLEE PHARMACY ADDS E-PRESCRIBING 
>>Myerlee Pharmacy (www.myerleepharmacy.com) now offers electronic prescribing (e-prescribing) through its connection to The Pharmacy Health Information Exchange, operated by SureScripts (www.surescripts.com). Through this secure connection, the pharmacy can receive new prescriptions directly from physicians on pharmacy computers and deliver requests for prescription refills electronically to connected prescribers, without the need for phone or fax.


J.L. WALLACE COMPLETES CHRISTIAN CENTER RENOVATION 
>>J.L. Wallace Inc. (www.jlwallaceinc.com) has completed the renovation of Fort Myers Christian Center at 3500 Fowler Street in Fort Myers. The project included the addition of a new lobby, kitchen and classrooms to the 8,000-square-foot building, and creating new sanctuary space in the existing building. David Grossman served as project manager, Dennis Tyeryar was superintendent and Robbyn Spears was project manager assistant.

SYNOVUS ADDS VP/COMMERCIAL BANKERS

They are at the Health Park banking center in Fort Myers. Bringas, who was promoted, holds a B.S. in Finance from the University of South Florida, Tampa, and is currently pursuing an MBA there. Prior to joining Synovus, he was a commercial underwriter with SunTrust Bank. Peters was most recently senior vice president/commercial lender with Riverside Bank. Roseman, with more than 16 years of experience in financial services, was most recently vice president relationship manager for Middle Market Commercial Banking for M&I Bank, Naples.
