Toby Ives has been named the new Interim CEO and president of the Harry Chapin Food Bank of Southwest Florida. Ives joins the company nearly two months after news broke about Al Brislain stepping down from the positions to lead Feeding America San Diego.
Ives has a nearly 30-year career in food banking. His most recent long-term leadership position was as executive director of MANNA Food bank in Asheville for 16 years. The food bank serves 17 Western North Carolina counties. Ives also served two terms as chairman of the Eastern Region of Second Harvest, now Feeding America, a national network of 200 food banks, including Harry Chapin Food Bank.
“I am pleased to be back at the Harry Chapin Food Bank for the interim period,” Ives said in a press release. “Through your support of the food bank, donors, volunteers, staff, board and the wider community, we invite thousands of people daily to the table, people in our five-county area, people who too often have little or nothing to eat. Thank you all.”
