Career highlights since 40-Under-40: Survived the hurricane and grew the company from 15 employees to almost 50. Doubled in office size and quadrupled the fleet size. Started Tri-Town Trust, a fund benefiting children's needs and the environment. Donated roofs to the Bonita Historic Society and Habitat for Humanity.
What did being named 40-Under-40 mean to you? Recognition for the sacrifices I've had over the years. Working hard and hustling even when not many people felt I could do it.
What advice do you have for this year's 40-Under-40? Always be willing to enter a situation with the thought of learning something, even if you think it’s a waste of time. There are no shortcuts in success; work hard and put in the long hours. Make sure you like what you do and enjoy it. Surround yourself with people who have different strengths than you, and let them do their work. Give people the tools they need and let them work.
