NATIONAL SHOW TO FEATURE PARADISE COAST
Florida’s Paradise Coast will be featured in an episode of the PBS series Samantha Brown’s Places to Love. The show airs nationally on PBS stations and will air locally at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday on WGCU. The show is the result of the Naples, Marco Island, Everglades Convention and Visitors Bureau working with the travel expert and her production team during their visit to the destination in 2018.
WGCU is hosting a special sneak preview event featuring Samantha Brown in person at 6 p.m. on Thursday, at the Hyatt House in Naples. General admission is $90, and $130 includes a meet-and-greet with Brown following the screening. Tickets can be purchased here.
LEE COUNTY TAX COLLECTOR ADDS CLERK OF COURT SERVICES IN BONITA
Lee County Tax Collector Larry Hart has partnered with Lee County Clerk of Court Linda Doggett to bring the clerk’s recording services to the Tax Collector’s Office on 25987 S. Tamiami Trail in Bonita Springs. Residents can apply for passports and marriage licenses and get married at the Bonita Springs location Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.
In addition to tax collector services like driver’s license renewal, vehicle registration and hunting and fishing licensure, clerk of court functions like deeds, mortgages and other official records can be recorded at the Bonita Springs location. For more information, visit leetc.com.

EBAUGH EARNS CFCAM DESIGNATION
The Florida Community Association Professionals (FCAP) (www.fcapgroup.com) recently designated James Ebaugh as a Certified Florida Community Association Manager (CFCAM). Ebaugh currently serves as the treasurer for Island Walk Home Owner’s Association in Naples, where he has held this office since 2016.
From 1989 to 1995, he served as a treasurer for Shadywood Villas HOA and Kendallwood HOA, both in Miami. Ebaugh also served in the United States Army, as a director of finance and chief financial officer at several hospitals, and as an adjunct professor teaching accounting and business management courses.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and Master of Science in management from Florida International University.

Midwest Food Bank earns four stars
Midwest Food Bank’s strong financial health and commitment to accountability and transparency have earned it a four-star rating from Charity Navigator, America’s largest independent charity evaluator. This is the seventh consecutive year that Midwest Food Bank has earned this distinction. Midwest Food Bank has 10 locations in the U.S., Africa and Haiti, including a Fort Myers location. It began in 2003 on Kieser’s Bloomington, Illinois, farm. It is a faith-based organization, providing hunger and disaster relief.
Volunteers needed for Weed Wrangle event
Volunteers are needed from 8 a.m. to noon on March 2 to help remove invasive plants at Lee County’s Mullock Creek Preserve, as part of the statewide Weed Wrangle volunteer effort.
Weed Wrangle is a one-day, statewide volunteer effort organized by the Garden Club of America, the Florida Invasive Species Partnership and Florida’s 16 regional Cooperative Invasive Species Management Areas (CISMAs). It is intended to protect local conservation areas through the removal of especially harmful trees, vines and invasive plants. The effort is planned as part of National Invasive Species Awareness Week, Feb. 25 through March 3.
Lee County’s Conservation 20/20 is partnering locally with Southwest Florida CISMA to host a volunteer project to remove invasive vegetation at Mullock Creek Preserve, located near the intersection of U.S. 41 South and Shadow Creek Boulevard in south Fort Myers. Detailed location and parking instructions will be provided to volunteers who register. Volunteers are asked to register in advance, as space is limited.
