LEE HEALTH OPENS OUTPATIENT REHAB CLINIC IN LEHIGH

Lee Health has opened the doors on a new outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Lehigh Acres. The more than 4,000 square-foot clinic will offer physical therapy services in a convenient location for residents. The new clinic will open with two physical therapists onsite offering including orthopedics, neurology and balance/vestibular rehab. The clinic has space for up to seven physical therapists and may expand based on demand from the community. The clinic may also add occupational therapy and speech therapy in the future if needed. The clinic, located at 3400 Lee Blvd., is Lee Health’s 15th outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Southwest Florida.​

CALLAGHAN INDUCTED TO LEADERSHIP CHARLOTTE HALL OF FAME

Keith Callaghan, assistant vice president, economic development and external affairs, at Florida SouthWestern State College, has been named to the Leadership Charlotte Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame recognizes Leadership Charlotte alumni who have distinguished themselves through their civic and business leadership and service to the community. Callaghan is a Leadership Charlotte class of 2012 alumnus and chairs the Leadership Charlotte healthcare day and education day programming. He serves on the boards of the Fred Lang Foundation, Charlotte Behavioral Health Care, the Boys and Girls Club of Charlotte County, Crossroads Hope Academy, the Punta Gorda Chamber of Commerce and the Visual Arts Center Endowment Trust. Callaghan serves as a Take Stock in Children mentor and volunteers for the Animal Welfare League, United Way and Leadership Charlotte. He has also served on the Charlotte County Community Health Improvement Partnership and School Health Advisory committees.​

CONRIC PR & MARKETING NAMES VP OF MARKETING

CONRIC PR & Marketing has promoted Jaimie Miller to vice president of marketing. In her new role, Miller will take on leadership responsibilities and continue to work directly with the CONRIC team to develop, implement, manage and expand the firm’s marketing footprint with regional and national clients. Miller has focused on public relations and marketing strategy, project management, client relationship management, business development and branding for the firm’s client base. Miller, accredited public relations professional, graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a bachelor’s degree in communications and a focus in public relations. She previously worked as the marketing director for Gulfshore Life magazine and in the same capacity for Riverchase Dermatology. She serves as the vice president of membership for the Southwest Florida chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association and volunteers in the United Way ReadingPals Program. Miller often speaks at community events, sharing her marketing expertise to business owners.​

WIB TO HOST OCTOBER NETWORKING MEETING

The Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Committee (WIB) will host a networking meeting from 4-6pm on Oct. 3 at Cornerstone Builders of Southwest Florida in Fort Myers. Event attendees will hear from a panel of marketing and public relations professionals about the Southwest Florida Challenge (#SWFLChallenge), a positive social media campaign launched in response to water quality issues facing Southwest Florida that promotes patronage of local attractions. Panelists include Teri Hansen of Priority Marketing, Connie Ramos-Williams of CONRIC PR & Marketing, Randy Mitchelson of iPartnerMedia, Angeli Chin of Veer 90 Creative, and Tamara Pigott of the Lee County Visitors and Convention Bureau. Samantha Scott of Pushing the Envelope will moderate the panel. ENTREPRENEURIAL SPIRIT PROGRAM DAYS AWAY

Limited space is available for the Dress for Success SW Florida’s Entrepreneurial Spirit Program (E$P), held from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Oct. 6 at Markham Norton Mosteller Wright & Co. P.A. (MNMW) in Fort Myers. E$P aims to provide future women business owners with the tools and support they need to succeed in their career. The E$P Dream Team includes four prominent women in the community, who will each cover specific topics at the event, include Angela Cooley, MNMW, discussing business accounting; Christina Harris Schwinn, Pavese Law Firm, discussing legal documentation and incorporation; Barbara Melvin, First Florida Integrity Bank, discussing small business lending and SBA loans; and Connie Ramos-Williams, CONRIC PR & Marketing, discussing new business branding and marketing. DENT HONORED BY ACADEMY OF MANAGEMENT

Dr. Eric B. Dent, Uncommon Friends endowed chair professor at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), has received a research award from the Academy of Management conference, an international gathering of management professors and practitioners. The Academy of Management, with 19,000 members in 123 countries, held its annual conference in Chicago in August. Scholars submitted 7,042 articles and approximately 50 of these received awards in the Academy of Management’s 25 different divisions. Dent’s research, Pulling Back the Curtain: What an Executive Coach Talks About, received the Outstanding Field Report Paper Award from the management consulting division. In this study, Dent addressed the most frequently discussed topic in his executive coaching conversations. He is now a two-time Academy of Management research award winner, having also been honored in 2010.

SOS: Sustainable Outreach Society—Goodness To-Go benefits Cape Coral Caring Center

The first annual SOS: Sustainable Outreach Society—Goodness To-Go event, held on Sept. 13, raised more than 3,000 pounds of food and $33,000 in financial donations benefitting the Cape Coral Caring Center, which typically experiences an uptick in the number of clients it serves during summer months but a downturn in pantry goods and monetary donations. Enlisted volunteers, clad in bright yellow SOS T-shirts, visited donors’ homes and businesses to pick up food, baby supplies, toiletries, gift cards and monetary donations. Donors participated by registering for a pickup of donated items at feedthecape.com.

Golf tournament to benefit Dr. Piper Center

Entech will present the annual Dr. Piper Center Classic, held with an 8:30 a.m. shotgun start on Oct. 6 at The Golf Club at Magnolia Landing in North Fort Myers Registration is $100 per person and $300 per team and includes 18 holes, Italian-style lunch, two drink tickets, prizes and trophies for the winning team.
