Perhaps the most exciting part about The Bohemian Restaurant opening after months of anticipation is finally getting to see what’s on the menu. Chef-owner Brandon Schewe has kept his menu secret beyond saying it features unconventional, eclectic cuisine.

After a few days of private seatings, the new local restaurant in Bonita Springs opens to the public on Friday. The Bohemian, 27975 Old 41 Road, Suite 104, serves brunch from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and then dinner from 5 to 10 p.m.

Brandon and Cailtin Schewe, who also co-own the nearby Downtown Coffee Co. on Old 41 Road in Bonita, have created an upscale, intimate restaurant in the new Entrada center on the northeast corner of Old 41 and Bonita Beach Road.

The Bohemian’s menu steers diners in the right direction with a top section labeled “What You’re Here For.” Those 14 items are available all day and include cold-water oysters, a variety of seafood towers, tiger’s milk ceviche, crispy chicken chicharrones, lobster buns, shrimp and grits, and a wood-fired flatbread with house lamb sausage and feta.

“The culinary approach at The Bohemian is a chef-driven kitchen with sharable-style selections with global influences and a focus on technique and quality,” the menu notes. “Our Florida hardwood oak grill offers versatile use of our locally sourced ingredients from neighboring farms and fishermen and our herbs are utilized from our rooftop organic garden.”

Available until 3 p.m. daily, The Bohemian offers “Breakfasty + Brunch Stuff” items such as steak and eggs, a Florida Benedict, Blue Crab BLT and Croque Cubano. “Evening Fare,” offered after 5 p.m., includes slow-roasted brisket, wood-grilled lamb, diver scallops and Florida littleneck clams.

The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating and a small Boho Bar for wine, wine-based cocktails and local beer and hard seltzers. The Bohemian also serves local organic drip coffee, espresso, cappuccino, café Cubano, teas, sodas and other beverages.

Neighboring The Bohemian in Entrada, Napoli Pizza opened its eighth location about a month ago. It’s the first Lee County location for a pizzeria founded more than 35 years ago on Naples Bay. The new Napoli is open 10:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday and noon to 9 p.m. Sunday.
