The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District will host the 48th annual “Christmas on Fifth” from 5-10 p.m. this Friday, Dec. 3, and from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. this Saturday, Dec. 4. The festival will combine holiday-themed activities along with al fresco dining on the street. Fifth Avenue South will be closed off to traffic throughout the two-day event. Among the traditional activities are a Living Nativity by First Church of the Nazarene, a skating rink, live entertainment and an appearance by Santa Claus. There also will be a 20-foot artificial Christmas tree, fully lit with more than 10,000 LED lights. The tree lighting takes place on Friday at 6 p.m. with live music on Baker stage. Other highlights include a showcase of modern and vintage cars by Porsche Naples and live music at VIP areas along the street. This year’s “Christmas on Fifth” will also feature expanded outdoor dining. Reservations should be made directly with the specific participating restaurant.
