Engle Dentistry shines brightly off U.S. 41 at night, lit from the inside by colorful LED lights that are seen from the street through a row of glass walls.

With a design so magnetic, it’s a dentist office patients may actually look forward to visiting.

“We wanted to have a unique building to reflect the quality of care people get,” says Dr. Bradley Engle, who purchased the space in 2010. “People appreciate that we invest inpatient experiences.”

Engle called on Southwest Florida-based architect Stofft Cooney Architects LLC and custom-home builder Build LLC to bring his vision of the 9,200-square-foot, modern implant headquarters to life. The lot, formerly home to Pippin’s restaurant for nearly three decades, now serves as Engle Dentistry’s third location.

A soothing neutral color palette greets guests in the first-floor reception area, adorned with designer furniture, a wall-mounted flatscreen, art sculptures and a large, decorative pendant light that hangs down from the second floor and can change colors for the holidays. The ground level also houses 15 operatories, including two dental surgical suites, plus doctor’s offices, two sterilization areas and a laboratory. The entire second floor is dedicated to education and events.

Designed in collaboration with CinemaTech, the presentation room feels more like an upscale movie theater, with a celestial ceiling feature, a high-end sound system and mechanical chairs.

Adjacent to the cinema, an open gourmet kitchen rivals those in luxury Naples homes, with a clean design, Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances and a water filtration system. There’s also an outdoor terrace featuring fire accents and a gas grill that’s used for special events.

The implant center comes full circle by serving patients food after they heal from dental procedures.

“People can come in and get the information they need, and once they can chew again, we can entertain them at one of our events,” Engle says.

No design expense was spared in the swanky facility, which was completed in 2018. But it’s not just about aesthetics; Engle also invested in added cleanliness and safety, which has paid off during the pandemic.

“We want to make sure we have a clean, healthy environment. All of the AC systems and UV filters we have installed on the property make it extremely COVID-safe,” he says.

If anything in the remote-controlled office needs to be modified—from the lights to the computers—Engle can do so with the touch of a button.

“We’re trying to stay different from everybody else,” Engle says, “but we don’t have to tell people. They just see it.”

LOCATIONS, LOCATIONS

In addition to the midtown Naples office, Engle Dentistry also serves patients in two other Collier County locations.

Its 4,100-square-foot Marco Island office was transformed from an old jewelry store in 2018, with help from Stofft Cooney Architects LLC and Build LLC.

The Naples Boulevard building, where Engle originally opened his practice 20 years ago, reopened in 2020 with a digital and denture commercial laboratory next door.

Each facility feels distinct from the others, but the common commitment to luxury care remains.

“We really felt like we wanted to have a brand that is very comfortable, spacious and clean, with high-quality doctors that provide the quality of care we expect,” Engle says.
