Fort Myers Brewing Co.’s Spyk’d Hard Seltzer earned six medals and was named the “Grand National Champion” at the 2021 U.S. Open Hard Seltzer Championship last week in Oxford, Ohio.

The Gateway-based brewery was awarded three gold and three silver medals in the competition which featured about 250 entries from over 60 brewers. Golds were awarded for its Spyk’d Pineapple, Spyk’d Lemon-Lime and Spyk’d Lemonade seltzers. Silvers were awarded for the brewery’s Spyk’d Strawberry-Lime, Spyk’d Mojito and Spyk’d Blue Raspberry.

Spyk’d Hard Seltzer is brewed naturally gluten-free with all-natural flavorings, fermented just like the brewery’s other craft brews. The spiked beverage contains 5% alcohol with 90 calories, no carbs and no sugar per 12-ounce pour and comes in a variety of flavors. “Brewing is a passion for our team, and to receive such high praise for our seltzer is an incredible honor,” said Rob Whyte, co-founder of Fort Myers Brewing. “We are proud to share our craft with fellow seltzer-lovers and are thrilled for our Spyk’d Hard Seltzers to be recognized in this national competition.”
