Florida gas prices are falling fast after a big drop in the crude oil market. Last week, the U.S. price for a barrel of oil fell to the lowest level since June 2023, according to AAA. On Sept. 8, Florida gas prices averaged $3.16 per gallon, the lowest daily average price since Feb. 12. It was 15 cents less than last week, 24 cents less than last month and 47 cents less than this time last year. The highest price so far this year was $3.64 per gallon, and the all-time high was $4.89 per gallon recorded in June 2022. In Southwest Florida on Sept. 9, Charlotte County had the lowest average price at $3.03 per gallon, followed by Lee County ($3.11) and Collier County ($3.32).
