District School Board of Collier County scheduled a special board meeting for 5 p.m. May 3 when it will vote on the next superintendent. The second round of interviews for the final two candidates, Charles E. Van Zant Jr. and Leslie C. Ricciardelli, were held Wednesday. Ricciardelli has led Collier County Public Schools since former Superintendent Kamela Patton and the board mutually agreed to part ways in December. She has 23 years of experience in the district. Van Zant Jr. served as superintendent for Clay County schools from 2012 to 2016.
