Village of Estero Council in January voted in favor of a master plan for a 100-acre sports park that is expected to be completed in 2026. Council at its July 2 regular meeting approved an amended contract with Chris-Tel Construction for $2,224,726 to build a maintenance building for the new park and demolish the old facility. Council chose not to include it in the master plan in favor of an area that might be used for food trucks.
