Fort Myers Community Redevelopment Agency Selection Committee recommended their choice and gained approval for the developer of 26 single-family homes at 2200 Jaylen Watkins St. in the Dunbar community. The only submission to develop the White Coral homeownership project came from Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties Inc. The Selection Committee reviewed, discussed and scored the submission. Habitat’s average score was 91.4 out of 100. The 11.43-acre site in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard redevelopment area will offer affordable housing to families meeting the area’s low/moderate income qualifications. White Coral will provide affordable homeownership opportunities for income-qualified families earning 30% to 80% of Fort Myers’ area median income.
