The Housing Authority of the city of Fort Myers was awarded $5 million by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for the Edison Avenue-Dunbar neighborhood as a part of $98 million in supplemental grants for Choice Neighborhoods implementation grantees across the country. Choice Neighborhoods Implementation Grants assist in the redevelopment of severely distressed HUD-assisted properties into mixed-income communities. The grant provides additional funds to 16 current Choice Neighborhoods to address the pandemic related disruptions. The supplemental grant funding for implementation grantees will be used to construct new, high-quality, mixed-income housing nationwide.
