As Hurricane Ian approaches Southwest Florida, the weather can pose a severe threat to sensitive computer hardware and data, Naples data expert Christian Wartchow warned. Naples-based CyberSecure IT Solutions offered recommendations that can reduce the loss of costly computer equipment and data during inclement weather. Wartchow recommended backing up data files, turning off and unplugging all computers, servers and printers, putting all computer equipment on top of desks away from windows and not turning on any equipment until the storm passes and power is stabilized.
