BBGI NET INCOME DOWN SLIGHTLY IN Q2
Beasley Broadcast Group (BBGI) reported a second-quarter net income of $4.3 million for the three months ended June 30, down from $4.9 million in the second quarter of 2018. The company reported a $5.6 million net income for the six months ended June 30, compared with $1.8 million for the same time period last year. Operating income, net income and net income per diluted share were impacted by a $4.4 million charge due to the change in fair value of contingent consideration in the six months ended June 30, 2018 and a $3.5 million gain on dispositions in the six months ended June 30, 2019, a press release states.
LEE HEALTH HOSPITALS RECOGNIZED FOR SAFE INFANT SLEEP
Lee Health hospitals Cape Coral Hospital, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida and HealthPark Medical Center recently earned the highest possible gold-level certification from the National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program for their commitment to best practices and education on infant safe sleep. The hospitals are three of 10 in Florida to earn gold certification. The National Safe Sleep Hospital Certification Program is a national program created by Cribs for Kids, a Pittsburgh-based organization dedicated to preventing infant, sleep-related deaths due to accidental suffocation.

PNC has named Tony Rodriguez senior client advisor of its wealth management office in Naples. He brings more than 35 years of financial services experience to PNC, working exclusively in wealth management. Rebecca M. Vaccariello of Naples has been elected to the 2019-2020 Collier County Bar Association Board of Directors. Vaccariello recently began her own litigation firm, Rebecca M. Vaccariello, P.A., with a focus on guardianship and fiduciary litigation and advice. She is the immediate past-president of the Collier County Women’s Bar Association, was named 2017 Attorney of the Year by Legal Aid, and sits on the Florida Bar’s guardianship and probate litigation committees.
WHITAKER EARNS PROFESSIONAL PR ACCREDITATION
Tiffany Whitaker, of the Southwest Florida Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association (FPRA), recently earned professional certification in public relations and received the designation of Certified Public Relations Counselor (CPRC). Earning the CPRC credential distinguishes senior members of FPRA who have demonstrated understanding and mastery of core public relations principles and ethical practices and have been certified to act as public relations counselors. Currently, there are 129 CPRCs in Florida, including 18 in Southwest Florida. Whitaker is the senior marketing director for Lee Health Foundation. Throughout her career, she’s worked in both the public and private sectors, specializing in strategic marketing communication and public relations in a wide range of industries. She has been an active member and leader in FPRA’s Southwest Florida Chapter since 2013 and served as president in 2017-2018. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Hodges University and the Accredited in Public Relations (APR) credential in 2016.

Hilton Naples has promoted Stephanie Roman from conference services manager to catering sales manager. Roman will now be responsible for orchestrating an anticipated 300 events annually and serving as the key liaison between clients and the hotel’s sales, food and beverage and audiovisual departments. Roman joined the Shula’s Steak House team in April 2017. She was promoted to the Hilton Naples conference services team in December 2017, then to her most recent position of conference services manager in January. She was named Hilton Naples team member of the quarter for the first quarter of 2019.

Literacy Program graduates nine children
Nine children graduated from the Literacy Council Gulf Coast (LCGC)’s award-winning Carol DeJoy Moms & Tots Family Literacy Program on Aug. 2. The Carol DeJoy Moms & Tots Family Literacy Program was founded in 2004 to help mothers learn English in an accessible way. One hundred percent of its Moms and Tots program graduates have started pre-kindergarten or kindergarten average or above average compared to their classmates, a press release states. The mission of Literacy Council Gulf Coast (LCGC), a nonprofit educational organization, is to assist adults and children to acquire the English literacy skills and education necessary to improve their quality of life and enhance the entire community.
