Allegiant Travel Co. has released its financial results for the fourth quarter and full-year 2019, as well as comparisons to the prior year. The company experienced a consolidated net income of $60.5 million for the three months ended Dec. 31, 2019, up 46.1% from $41.4 million from the same period in 2018. The company also reported a consolidated net income of $232.1 million for the 12 months ended Dec. 31, 2019, up 43.4% from $161.8 million for the same period the year prior.


The Greater Naples Chamber has selected Gov. Ron DeSantis to be the recipient of its inaugural “Friend of Collier Business” award. DeSantis was chosen because of his strong commitment to the environment, water quality and the businesses that depend on it, according to a press release. The Greater Naples Chamber’s Board of Directors commended DeSantis for his actions since being elected to address business and community leaders’ concerns about our water quality. Pulte’s new Edgewater at Babcock Ranch will be built along the shores of Lake Timber, and offer new community-exclusive one- and two-story homes.


Pulte Homes has broken ground on its three model homes in Edgewater, a lakefront neighborhood of 166 single-family homes with premium lake and preserve views within Babcock Ranch. Spanning along the shores of Lake Timber, the 74-acre neighborhood will offer all-new one- and two-story homes starting from the mid $200’s on three series of home site sizes. The new models underway will illustrate Edgewater’s 11 available single-family home designs that offer flexible, open concept floor plans, customized kitchens, versatile outdoor living spaces and smart home technology. Edgewater at Babcock Ranch will have its own private amenity center with a heated pool, cabana, and fire pit, along with outdoor space for gatherings. The new neighborhood will also offer walking trails that will be interconnected within the community. The “Wild Blue” mixed-use destination along Corkscrew Road, just east of Interstate-75, is rolling out non-residential uses for its 2,960-acre master-planned community. The project will offer over 1,000 homes by Lennar, Pulte Homes, Stock Development, and WCI Communities, and is now looking for commercial concepts that can cater to the upscale development between Corkscrew and Alico Road. Included in this line-up is the future home to River of Life. The church purchased approximately 10 acres of the Corkscrew tract on Jan. 22 for $1,400,000. It is expected to hold a 40,000-square-foot center in the near future, according to a press release. LandQwest associate and outparcel specialist Brett Low represented the seller, Alico East Fund, LLC. Edie Lombardo at Old Glory Realty represented the buyer, River of Life Assembly of God, Estero, Florida, Inc. With the entire corridor experiencing rapid growth, Low is now refocused on a sister site to the North. He currently has 24-acres for sale along Alico Road at the entrance to Taylor Morrison’s Esplanade Lake Club.

Naples-based Connor & Gaskins Unlimited, LLC has broken ground on the expansion of a Fairfield Inn & Suites—home of Sparky’s Landing restaurant—on Marathon Key. The team will construct 27 new suites adjacent to a 135-room hotel as well as add a pool and boat ramp to the Marriott-owned destination. A commencement ceremony that included OTO Development—the national developer and hospitality manager of 530-plus properties—took place last month. Connor & Gaskins Unlimited has completed auger cast pilings and is now pouring 140-plus yards of concrete for the foundation of the hotel. The new Fairfield Inn & Suites is slated to be completed by November 2020.

Dr. Chetan Vedvyas


Florida Skin Center has appointed Dr. Chetan Vedvyas to its executive committee. He—along with founder and chief medical officer Dr. Anais Aurora Badia, practice manager Diana Gonzalez, regional manager Jesmarie Roldan, and CEO George Gulisano—will discuss important operating issues and set the vision, goals, and objectives for the skincare center. Vedvyas joined Florida Skin Center in 2018 as the director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology. As the medical director of the Punta Gorda office, he collaborated with Badia on the design and layout of six specially designed suites in the Mohs surgical center by synthesizing his Harvard Medical School training, Mohs surgical fellowship and Mohs surgical experience. Vedvyas helps to yield Mohs micrographically controlled surgery’s 97 to 99% cure rate for up to 160 patients per month. Most recently, Vedvyas largely contributed to the dermatological practice’s record-breaking guest visitation rate, according to a press release.

Ambers Antibodies raises over $230,000 for local families fighting cancer

Amber’s Antibodies, Inc. raised over $230,000 at its annual Sporting For a Cure event, held on Jan. 25 at The Club at Olde Cypress. More than 250 people attended the sports-themed fundraiser, including special guest Florida Sen. Majority Leader Kathleen Passidomo. In addition to Sen. Passidomo, Zeke Newbery, a 9-year-old grant recipient of the organization, and Amber Grider, the namesake of the organization, told their stories of surviving brain cancer. Amber’s Antibodies is a nonprofit charitable foundation that provides grants to local Southwest Florida families fighting cancer and donates funds in support of clinical trials for cancer research in hopes of finding a cure. Alliant Association Management sponsors Habitat home

Alliant Association Management has partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Lee and Hendry Counties through the sponsorship of a new home this coming year. As a home sponsor, Alliant Association Management and its partners will help Habitat offset the costs associated with building materials and will provide volunteer labor to construct the home. MarineMax Fort Myers Yacht Gala benefits children’s hospital

The team at MarineMax Fort Myers hosted its annual Yacht Gala in benefit of The Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida at the Deep Lagoon Seafood and Oyster House, located on the MarineMax campus. Through donations, a live auction, and a silent auction, the company raised nearly $200,000. Jen Stacy from ABC 7 News was the emcee, and Armando Llechu, chief administrative officer of The Golisano Children’s Hospital, was the keynote speaker of the evening. Next year’s Yacht Gala will be held on Jan. 22, 2021.
