As part of the 2018 Top Glass Fabricators annual survey, Glass Magazine asked leading fabricators to nominate exceptional glazing partners with whom they had worked with during the previous year. From those nominations, Glass Magazine compiled the inaugural list of Top Glazier Partners. The survey was conducted in the U.S. and Canada with only 10 partners in North America being recognized. RADIO EXECUTIVES NAMED AMONG MOST INFLUENTIAL LIST
Beasley Media Group LLC Chief Executive Officer Caroline Beasley and Heidi Raphael, vice president of corporate communications, have been named among the 2018 “Most Influential Women (MIW) in Radio” by Radio Ink magazine, a national industry trade publication. Bonita Springs resident and Marketron Broadcast Solutions Chief Revenue Officer Deborah Esayian and Denyse Mesnik, founder and president of The Mesnik Group, a public relations firm located in Naples, were also featured on the list of honorees. The annual list is a celebration of the top 100 women who continue to innovate and pay it forward to others in the radio industry.
BAY COLONY GOLF CLUB HIRES EXECUTIVE CHEF
Following an extensive search, Bay Colony Golf Club has selected Tim Recher as the club’s new executive chef. For the last five years, Recher was executive chef at the 7,000-member Army Navy Country Club, located in Arlington, Virginia. Prior to that, he was the executive chef for several hotels in the Washington, D.C., area, including The Madison Hotel, Hilton Alexandria and Jury’s Washington Hotel. Recher has more than 25 years of experience in the culinary arts and is a Certified Executive Chef, Certified Wine Expert and winner of more than 35 culinary medals. He also served three terms as chairman of the board and president of the Nation’s Capital Chefs Association and has been invited to try out for the U.S. National Culinary Olympic Team. If selected, he will be representing the U.S. on the world culinary stage. In addition, Recher has been approved as a candidate to become a Certified Master Chef (CMC), the highest level of certification a chef can receive. Today, there are only 67 CMC’s in the nation, according to a press release.

American Airlines will inaugurate nonstop seasonal service to Miami International Airport (MIA) from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) in Fort Myers on Dec. 19. The ABWA Neapolitan Chapter will host its fourth annual Women's Business Showcase from 4-7 p.m. on Sept. 25 at the Hilton Naples. Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation supports Guadalupe Center
The Richard M. Schulze Family Foundation has awarded a pair of grants to help expand early childhood education and after-school tutoring programs at Guadalupe Center in Immokalee. Guadalupe Center will receive $500,000 to expand its early childhood education program, as well as $65,000 to bolster its afterschool tutoring program. Guadalupe Center has 307 children from infancy through 5 years old in its early childhood education program, which includes The Martin Family Foundation Campus at Lake Trafford Elementary School. Guadalupe Center’s afterschool program serves more than 670 students in addition to 368 students in the summer enrichment program, each of whom receives additional academic help in reading, math and science.
Becoming Cosmopolitan fundraiser coming in October
Community Cooperative’s 13th annual Becoming Cosmopolitan fundraiser will take place at 6 p.m. on Oct. 4 at the Barbara B. Mann Performing Arts Hall in Fort Myers. This year’s event will feature the theme Fire & Ice. The evening features shopping with local boutique vendors, cuisine and cocktails, desserts, silent and live auctions, raffles, music and an after-party. More than 300 guests attended the last Becoming Cosmopolitan event and all of the proceeds support women and children’s programming at Community Cooperative. Sponsorships are available and range from $1,500 to $10,000. Donations for the event’s silent and live auctions, and Key to The Closet raffle are also being accepted. Motorcycle run to benefit ACT
Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. (ACT) will hold the annual David Barbur Biker Brunch, a benefit motorcycle run and brunch beginning at 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 26, starting at HeadPinz Entertainment Center in Fort Myers and concluding at Keylime Bistro on Captiva Island. All proceeds from the event will go towards ACT’s programs for victims of domestic violence and their children, and survivors of sexual assault and human trafficking in Lee, Hendry, and Glades counties. Kickstands go up at 9:30 a.m., following 8:30 a.m. registration. The brunch starts around 10:30 a.m. and continues to noon. The event will be held rain or shine and those who would like to join for the brunch are welcome to arrive around 10:30 a.m. at Keylime Bistro. The cost for the event is $20 per person, including riders. Attendees will receive a buffet-style brunch catered by Keylime Bistro, opportunity to win raffle prizes, and more.
