Hodges University partners for COVID closet cleanout drive for veterans
Hodges University Hodges.edu has partnered with the Collier County Veterans Council, Wounded Warriors of Collier County, and the Hunger & Homeless Coalition for a “COVID Closet Cleanout” through July 31. Both the Naples and Fort Myers campuses are drop-off sites for the following items: adult clothing (gently used, any season), adult shoes (gently used or new), new socks and underwear, shoelaces, sleep bags in good condition, blankets, tents in good condition, masking tape, duct tape, rope, and canteens. Donations can be dropped off by appointment from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Hodges University Naples Campus at 2647 Professional Circle, and the Hodges University Fort Myers Campus at 4501 Colonial Blvd. To schedule a drop-off time and location, contact Tish at 239-938-7833 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
David Lawrence Center to host Ribbon of Hope virtual fundraiser
This July, David Lawrence Centers for Behavioral Health (DLC) invites the community to share a message of hope for those with mental-health or substance-use challenges and all frontline workers, medical professionals, first responders and hospitality workers, through its Ribbon of Hope virtual fundraiser. Each message will be represented by a colorful ribbon tied to the branches of DLC’s enormous and sprawling Tree of Hope banyan tree on the main Golden Gate Parkway campus. The tree was planted in the 1980s by clients. All of the messages will be displayed on DLCTreeofHope.org
