NAPLES AIRPORT TO BEGIN GENERAL AVIATION TERMINAL REMODEL
The Naples Airport Authority is undertaking an extensive remodel of the General Aviation Terminal at the Naples Airport to enhance the customer experience and first impressions of the community for visitors and returning residents upon landing in Naples. Work on the terminal will begin on May 31. The current General Aviation Terminal closed on Wednesday and is expected to re-open before the Thanksgiving holiday. Naples Aviation, the airport’s sole fixed-base operator, will temporarily operate from the airport’s North Road Terminal (previously the commercial terminal). The Naples Airport Authority will operate out of both the North Road Terminal and the Airport Office Building. The terminal improvements were designed by SchenkelShultz Architecture and are being built by Owen-Ames-Kimball Co. Airport revenues entirely fund the $7.6-million project without any local tax dollars.
CONDITIONED AIR TO HOST EMPLOYMENT OPEN HOUSES IN JUNE

On Tuesday, United Food and Commercial Workers (UFCW), which represents more than 7,400 Florida workers in food and retail, announced with Union Harvest and Nature’s Root Labs the first-ever national agreement to unionize the
B & I JOINS ENCOMPASS HEALTH PROJECT IN NAPLES
B & I Contractors, a Southwest Florida-based mechanical, plumbing and electrical subcontracting and building services firm, was awarded the $2.5 million electrical scope for the new ground-up Encompass Health project in Naples. The Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Naples will offer inpatient physical therapy services to patients. B & I’s scope of work for the 50-bed facility will consist of providing Florida Power and Light primary to the site and incoming electrical service with backup generators. B & I is also responsible for the interior and lighting controls, fire alarm system, pathways for all telecommunications and the nurse call systems. Groundbreaking is slated for the beginning of June, and the project will take approximately 12 months to complete.
VINEYARD VINES TO OPEN AT FIFTH AVENUE SOUTH IN NAPLES
The Fifth Avenue South Business Improvement District (BID) has announced the addition of Vineyard Vines, the lifestyle apparel brand best known for its smiling pink whale logo. Vineyard Vines will open a 2,200-square-foot store, showcasing seasonal clothing and accessories for men, women and children along with lifestyle products. The store is anticipated to be open at the start of the new season in the former space of the Castaway clothing store. Located at 694 Fifth Ave. S., the new Vineyard Vines retail store will be situated near the entrance of Inn on Fifth Club Level Suites, owned by the McCabe family of Naples.

SWFL Inc. President and CEO Tiffany Esposito has joined the Talent Pipeline Management Academy run by the U.S. Chamber Foundation. The Talent Pipeline Management (TPM) Academy is an immersive, six-month program that provides leaders with the resources they need to implement TPM in their communities. “Talent Pipeline Management is all about connecting our employers with educators and making sure current students are getting prepared with the skills they need to thrive in this region,” said Esposito. “We want students to graduate high school or college and be able to walk right into a career, already having the skills they need to succeed.”

The Florida Lions Eye Clinic welcomes Robin Goldstone Garcia as its new executive director. Goldstone Garcia has extensive executive-level managerial experience and has served the vision initiative in Florida for the last several years as the deputy director of the Florida Department of Education Division of Blind Services and executive director of Lighthouse of Collier. She has more than 20 years of business experience in financial services, contract administration, human resources and operations. Goldstone Garcia holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration and psychology from the State University of New York, College at Oswego, and has pursued a master’s in holistic nutrition from the Clayton College of Natural Health.
FLORIDA GULF COAST UNIVERSITY ADDS TO COMMUNICATION TEAM
Pamela McCabe, a Southwest Florida-based newspaper journalist since 2007, is now Florida Gulf Coast University’s coordinator, university communication and media relations. In her new role, McCabe will serve as the liaison between the media and the office of the president. Absorbing some of the duties previously handled by Susan Evans, McCabe will work with reporters and provide official university responses to campus topics that are highly visible or sensitive in nature. In the event of an emergency or crisis, she will also coordinate communications on behalf of the office of the president and the university. McCabe works in tandem with Kyle McCurry and Annie Hubbell of university marketing and communications, who are primarily responsible for promoting university news and features and coordinating faculty expert requests. McCabe most recently covered higher education and K-12 for The News-Press in Fort Myers.

Naples-based Wilson Creative Group (WCG) has promoted Christian Anderson production coordinator. The main function of the production coordinator is to organize and streamline production in an efficient and time-effective manner. Anderson joined the company in May 2019 as traffic coordinator. Utilizing the agency’s project management software, he developed workflow schedules and timelines, identified opportunities to adjust and revise processes, and increased efficiency by developing solutions for potential workflow delays. A Naples native, Barron Collier High School graduate and freelance mixed-media artist, Anderson studied film and video and photographic arts at the Art Institute of Chicago.

Joe Nelsen has joined Hodges University as the senior social media and marketing content creator. In this position, he is responsible for all the university’s social media, its four electronic newsletters, and Talon magazine. A native of New York, Nelsen graduated from the University of Tampa with a bachelor’s degree in communications. Prior to graduating, he gained experience in planning and executing social media strategies for national corporations. He also has experience in blog, website and copywriting.

The STARability Foundation has earned the 2021 GuideStar Platinum Seal of Transparency. The nonprofit organization earned the designation by adding information about its finances, leadership, strategy and metrics to its profile on GuideStar. The Platinum Seal helps community members, GuideStar users and other stakeholders find in-depth information about STARability’s mission, programs and leadership. MCQUAGGE COMPLETES AMERICA BANKERS ASSOCIATION’S BANK MARKETING SCHOOL
Amy McQuagge, Sanibel Captiva Community Bank’s vice president and director of marketing, has achieved an Advanced Certificate in Bank Marketing through the American Bankers Association’s Bank Marketing School. The two-week virtual curriculum is held annually and offers bank marketing and communications professionals a deeper understanding of return on investment, product development and the customer experience in the field of banking. McQuagge is seeking her Certified Financial Marketing Professional designation and will take the exam in June. McQuagge joined the bank in 2018 as the organization’s first in-house marketing director. She was previously the senior marketing and event manager for the Lee County Economic Development Office. A lifelong Lee County resident, McQuagge holds a bachelor’s degree in communications from Florida Southern College.
Take Stock in Children graduation luncheon held virtually
The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools on May 21 recognized 34 high school seniors graduating from the Take Stock in Children (TSIC) Program. The graduates will receive a four-year college tuition scholarship with a total value of approximately $550,000. The virtual luncheon served as an opportunity for parents, mentors, and members of the business community to recognize the students for completing the program. Foundation President and CEO Marshall T. Bower delivered a speech to the graduates and keynote speaker Joe Mitchell, president of Pool Pros, board member and current TSIC mentor. Take Stock in Children was established in 1995 as a statewide scholarship program that provides a unique opportunity for deserving, low-income, at-risk youth to escape the cycle of poverty through education. The Foundation for Lee County Public Schools administers the program in Lee County.
