Lafayette 148 New York marks its 25th anniversary with the opening of an upscale women’s clothing boutique at Waterside Shops in Naples.
The new store in the open-air shopping destination features Lafayette 148’s complete ready-to-wear footwear, handbags, jewelry and accessories collections. Underscoring the brand’s commitment to craft and handiwork in its collections, hanging shelves display Lafayette 148’s “Made in Italy” accessories of bags and footwear.
The boutique celebrates the design-led commitment to the brand’s SoHo origins in New York City with artists and creators collaborating with creative director Emily Smith. The brand commissioned unique decorative elements from New York-based artists for the interior of the new boutique, creating a relationship between the store’s fashion collection and its architecture. The space features custom planters from Brooklyn-based artist Julianna Anh with handcrafted wooden and ceramic stools by Kieran Kinsella. Two works by photographer and friend of the house Sophie Elgort will be on permanent display.
Drawing inspiration from the brand’s global flagship at 59 Greene St. in New York, elements include French white oak hardwood flooring, bespoke seating areas and ice onyx jewelry glass display cases. An oil-rubbed patina bronze wall features flanking mirrors designed to capture the eye and highlight the space’s architectural intrigue.
Founded in 1996 in New York City, Lafayette 148 has a devoted following for its relaxed-yet-confident collections with attention to detail in tailoring and artisanship. The brand has 28 freestanding boutiques in the United States and China, and is in specialty stores and luxury department stores throughout the world.
Lafayette 148’s boutique in Naples is open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at 5555 Tamiami Trail N. The brand’s boutique opened this month in a recently redeveloped Suite G-8, between the new Lululemon shop and the Apple store near the eastern edge of the luxury mall.
