Inca’s Kitchen has permanently closed, but some of the local restaurant’s Peruvian cuisine will live on in the new establishment replacing it this week in North Naples. The same husband and wife who recently owned Inca’s are launching Legends B&G Sports Bar on Friday in that space at The Pavilion shopping center on the northwest corner of U.S. 41 and Vanderbilt Beach Road.
The initials of the first names of owners Beatriz Westgate and Germán Marín are responsible for the B&G in the name of their new Latin American sports bar, but they don’t mind if people think B&G stands for bar and grill, billiards and games or even boy and girl because all of these variations are fitting. Legends salutes sports legends, especially soccer stars such as Pelé and Cristiano Ronaldo, who will be honored with murals on the bar’s walls. “We are just changing the whole concept and having the Peruvian food still in it,” Marín said. “We will be the first Latin American sports bar. I want to have a good price, good quality food and a good ambiance. It’s going to be real nice.”
The venue will include 27 TV screens and feature a game room in the back with pool tables and dartboards and a private room for gamers. The owners thought the space was too large for Inca’s Peruvian concept but they still will serve Peruvian and Colombian dishes and South American beers in addition to American pub grub such as burgers, wings and pasta. “It’s going to be the combination of Latin American and American fare,” Marín said. “Now we will be able to attract more people than just those who want Peruvian food.”

The closing of the second location of Inca’s on March 6 is the end of an era of sorts. Before the original Inca’s Kitchen in Golden Gate closed in July 2016, its local culinary success paved the way for a variety of Peruvian restaurants in the Naples area. Longtimers also will remember Inca’s former space at The Pavilion as China Pavilion, a popular Chinese restaurant for decades until it mysteriously closed 10 years ago.
