A meeting to approve a warehouse and distribution center of up to 1.4 million square feet has been rescheduled by the city of Fort Myers.

A quorum of members for the citizen board of adjustment could not be reached, according to the city, therefore, the Dec. 15 meeting had to be canceled.

The meeting instead could take place Wednesday, Jan. 26, at city hall.

The proposed warehouse would be built in two phases by Seefried Development Group, which has a history of working with e-commerce giant Amazon.

The first phase calls for a building of almost 650,000 square feet, more than half the size of the Edison Mall.

The property is located off State Road 82, just east of Interstate 75, adjacent to the Lexington Palms at the Forum apartment complex. The land is vacant and used for grazing cattle.
