Napoli on the Bay Pizza in Bonita Springs

Napoli on the Bay Pizza, launched on Naples Bay more than 35 years ago, has its seventh and eighth locations opening soon in Bonita Springs and North Naples, respectively.

The seventh Napoli pizzeria, and the first outside of Collier County, will debut this month at the new Entrada development on the northeast corner of Bonita Beach Road and Old 41 Road in Bonita Springs. The pizzeria will be next door to The Bohemian, another new restaurant expected to open this month in the recently expanded mixed-use retail center at 27975 Old 41 Road.

Tony Brito, the owner of the family-owned restaurants, still needs drivers, counter help and pizza chefs to operate efficiently. “I have two people to go to work in Bonita Springs and I need 10,” he said.

Brito also is taking over the unit recently vacated by Vesuvio’s Pizza at 881 103rd Ave. N. in North Naples. Brito is building out this eighth location, which is targeted to open in December, he said.

Napoli pizzerias offer the same menus of New York-style pizza, stromboli, sandwiches, salads and pasta dishes, as do Brito’s numerous ghost kitchen delivery concepts. He uses his own drivers to deliver food from his virtual restaurant brands operating with a variety of names such as Naples Pizza Co., Paradise Pizza, Pizza 239, Marco Pizza Co. and Tony’s Pizza.

Meanwhile, Vesuvio’s Pizza, owned and operated by Tony Amico, is targeted to open next week in a new location in Naples. The new pizzeria initially will be open only for to-go orders starting Nov. 16. The dine-in seating and bar will open as soon as possible, Amico said. Vesuvio’s initially had planned to open this week but Amico delayed the opening a week because of supply chain issues “due to circumstance beyond our control,” he said.

After doing business for nearly 40 years in Naples Park, Vesuvio’s closed in August to relocate to its new location 6 miles south at 2555 Tamiami Trail N., an address that’s also home to Gulfcoast Inn, Fujiyama and Harold’s Place.
