Jean-Pierre Klifa, named for its French founder and women’s clothing and handbag designer of the same name, opened and has walls flanked with bags and leather purses starting at about $250. All clothing has an Ultraviolet Protection Factor of 50-plus fabric, blocking 98% of the sun’s ultraviolet rays.

“[Klifa] believes in simplicity, but also with a lot of color,” store manager Victoria Vang said. It’s one of 10 stores across the country, with a cluster of them elsewhere in Southwest Florida, including one off Fifth Avenue South in Naples. “When you walk in, what do you expect? A lot of color. It’s always bright in here.”  Jonny Was opened at Coconut Point in Estero

That trend of colorfulness continues at Johnny Was, a luxury women’s clothing brand established in 1987 as a wholesale manufacturer based in Los Angeles. The business began to franchise with nine retail stories, including one that opened at Coconut Point. The brand is also available at about 70 boutiques across the country.

Kimonos, shirts and dresses adorn the racks and walls at Johnny Was, which Yris Heyboer manages. Prices range from $250 to $500.

“It’s a Bohemian kind of clothing,” Heyboer said. “But we have been in business for 35 years. We’re known for embroidery and rich fabrics. Everything is so rich.”

Southern Tide, a spinoff brand with the same ownership group as Tommy Bahama, also just opened a retail store with luxury casual clothing.

Subtle & Chic women’s clothing boutique started as an online-only, e-commerce business, only to branch out into its first brick-and-mortar store at Coconut Point.

Art 4 Wear offers women’s clothing with a twist, as all of the designs on the clothing were created by Cape Coral-based artist Yvonne Krystman. She makes custom-made windbreakers, dresses, shirts, accessories and more.

G’s Bridal specializes in wedding clothing and recently opened a new store at Coconut Point.

RealtyQuest, an online-based real estate firm, expanded with a Coconut Point in-person location.

So did Nautical Bowls, a Minnesota-based fast-casual dining franchise specializing in acai and other fruit and granola bowls. It’s at 23050 Via Villagio, suite 115, in Coconut Point.
