ABOVE BOARD CHAMBER SEMINARS SET
The Above Board Chamber of Florida has two upcoming meetings. The first meeting will place from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Oct. 8 at Hilton Naples and demonstrate how to identify the right sales opportunities. The second meeting will be held from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. on Oct. 11 at the Crowne Plaza Fort Myers at Bell Tower Shops, and it will address the Southwest Florida water crisis and its impact on business. Chad Gillis, environmental reporter for The News-Press, will serve as master of ceremonies for the Fort Myers meeting on the impact of the water crisis on business. He’ll lead panel members including John Cassani, Calusa Waterkeeper; Suzanne Specht, Florida Small Business Development Center at Florida Gulf Coast University; Chris Whitman, Captains for Clean Water; and Rae Ann Wessel, Sanibel-Captiva Conservation Foundation. Susan Armstrong Ryan, founder and owner of Creative Business Coaches, will lead the Naples program, with panel members including Cynthia Davis, The Imaj Group and founder of Leaders of Distinction; Carrie Ann Texter, Conditioned Air; Gary Harlan, ncolor {salon + boutique2}; and Niccole Neebling, Hilton Naples. Registration for each event is $28 for members and $32 for nonmembers on or before Oct. 3. After Oct. 3, it’s $32 for members and $38 for nonmembers. RSW NAMED AMONG MOST SATISFACTORY AIRPORTS
Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) ranked third in the medium airport category of J.D. Power’s 2018 North America Airport Satisfaction Study. The study, in its 13th year, measures overall traveler satisfaction with mega, large and medium North American airports in the areas of terminal facilities, airport accessibility, security check, baggage claim, check-in/baggage check and food, beverage and retail. RSW had a score of 810, which was higher than the average scores in the mega, large and medium categories and ranked best in Florida for traveler satisfaction. For the full report, click here.

LEE HEALTH OPENS OUTPATIENT REHAB CLINIC IN LEHIGH
Lee Health has opened the doors on a new outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Lehigh Acres. The more than 4,000 square-foot clinic will offer physical therapy services in a convenient location for residents. The new clinic will open with two physical therapists onsite offering including orthopedics, neurology and balance/vestibular rehab. The clinic has space for up to seven physical therapists and may expand based on demand from the community. The clinic may also add occupational therapy and speech therapy in the future if needed. The clinic, located at 3400 Lee Blvd., is Lee Health’s 15th outpatient rehabilitation clinic in Southwest Florida.

BUSINESSES NAMED TO TOP COS. TO WATCH LIST
GrowFL has released its 2018 Florida Companies to Watch list. Several honorees hail from Southwest Florida, including: ArgoTrak and Benseron Hospitality of Naples, Oasis Senior Advisors of Bonita Springs, and Vectra Digital and AXI International of Fort Myers. These companies are expected to see significant growth over the next several years, according to a press release, and were selected from more than 500 nominees for Florida Companies to Watch, a statewide program managed by economic development group GrowFL, in association with the Edward Lowe Foundation. The winning company’s management teams, competitive market positions and strong community involvement were among several factors that put them in contention for the award.

LEE COUNTY CLERK EARNS FINANCIAL EXCELLENCE AWARD
For the 33rd year in a row, the Lee County Clerk’s Finance Department has received the “Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting” for the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR). The CAFR is the audited financial statements for Lee County that includes the board of county commissioners, clerk of courts, property appraiser, sheriff, supervisor of elections and tax collector offices. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. The CAFR is judged by an impartial panel of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) and must meet the high standards of the program.
