Nurse practitioners are going to be in high demand in Southwest Florida over the next several years.

The number of those highly skilled—and highly paid—positions is expected to increase by about 52% between now and 2031, according to an analysis by Florida’s Bureau of Workforce Statistics and Economic Research. That’s by far the highest growth rate out of the occupations measured. Overall, the total number of jobs is expected to grow by 10% over that time frame in Southwest Florida, with many of the high-growth professions existing in the health care, retail and service industries.
